I have a half decent one recommended on here I think a balsam tree one but next year I want a 6 foot one. I want a pre lit one though....

My one is ok but I hate all the gaps. Yes I have plumped it and bent it out properly etc but I don’t like it. I can’t fill the gaps with baubles as there is nothing to attach them to where the gaps are as there is just the stem of the tree. I hate tinsel so that isn’t an option. Can anyone recommend a really nice and plump one?? Thinking of buying it now/just after Xmas as hopefully be cheaper??

I have had both of my fake trees (or as Mr Christmas likes to call them permanent holiday trees or something!) from house of fraser. The first one was when I'd got my first home almost 2o tears ago. I replaced it this year.

It was half price at £75, prelit, 7ft and flocked and its a beauty! No gaps at all. Based on the last one I bought, I'm expecting it to last another 15 years or so too.

Dachshelp · 18/12/2020 07:08

I might be lying.... just looking back in my history and the one I have that I bought last year is from we r Christmas and I don’t think they sell balsam ones... can anyone recommend a specific one that they have/seen in really life?

one cheap option to replacing your tree is buying a few garlands in the sales. Cut them down into small sections and bury them in the middle if the tree to disguise the gaps. If you get them in a similar finish to your tree you don't notice they are there once the tree is decorated.

This is genius!

If you read the Facebook page, Balsam Hill Complaints, you won’t want to use them, especially if you are hoping for a pre-lit tree that works. Look at Christmas Tree World, they might have a sale after Christmas.

TrickyD · 18/12/2020 09:28

If you want specific tree recommendations, our Christmas Tree World one is a Woodland Pine, 8ft, and our DS like it so much he bought himself one too. I have seen some of their other trees posted on here and they look terrific.

Dachshelp · 18/12/2020 10:00

Thanks for the tip about the garlands but next year want a bigger tree. Interesting about balsam... people rave about them on here usually. Maybe they have gone downhill. @TrickyD which specific one do you have ?

The Woodland Pine 8ft, DS2 has the 6 ft version. His photo makes it look as if it is not straight. He says it is just a bad photo.

Thanks for that. That was the one I’m currently looking at. £200 is a lot though!

I have a balsam hill Berkshire fir prelit and it's beautiful and works perfectly. Igor it in the sale around this time a few years ago. Once fluffed out there are no gaps.

Wornout12108 · 19/12/2020 07:29

I have a Balsalm Hill Fraser fir and love it, also it's pre lit which is amazing not faffing with lights anymore. I did buy in the dale as usual price for a 7ft is about £450 I think.
Look at the website I'm pretty sure you can have sample branches sent to you. Everything clicks together so takes seconds to put up then you just fluff out the branches.

Wornout12108 · 19/12/2020 07:29

Sale not Dale Hmm

hannahbanana2007 · 19/12/2020 07:38

I really want a Christmas tree world one, the ultra mountain pine - have been watching them since about June but just can't afford it this year. The prices in June were hugely discounted, started to increase gradually from about October, they do pre lit ones too

Breastfeedingworries · 19/12/2020 07:44

Marking my spot as desperate for a tree for next year lol. Are there any decent ones with the snow affect? Or do they all look cheap.

Dachshelp · 19/12/2020 08:37

@Wornout12108 so you haven’t had any issues? I wonder if that FB page mentioned about them is just this years trees then? Maybe they have gone downhill? I don’t want to have to buy any more trees, would like this one to last!

The ‘snowy’ ones from Christmas Tree World look good. Excellent reviews and they still seem to be offering delivery by Christmas.
Wornout12108 · 19/12/2020 15:36

@Dachshelp No issues at all, I don't have Facebook what were the complaints about them?

Hairwizard · 19/12/2020 15:59

@Bigoldmachine
Thats a genius idea! Going to file that away for next year

TrickyD · 19/12/2020 19:56

If you watched Strictly this evening, note the Christmas Tree, it is a Woodland Pine from Christmas Tree World.

Dachshelp · 20/12/2020 07:24

I didn’t even notice a tree Grin how did you know that @TrickyD?!
