What time will everyone be up Xmas morning 😁
Hopefully my 3 won't be too early!

I usually wake DD3(9) by 9am and send her in to wake her teenage and adult siblings!

Ltdannygreen · 18/12/2020 22:51

Between 6/7 and then we make them open stockings slowly just so we can fully wake up and process before the chaos ensues 😂

Deereamer · 18/12/2020 22:57

About 5:15 is normal for us so probably somewhere around there.

TheGriffle · 18/12/2020 22:57

My then 6 year old woke up at 4.30am last year and was too excited to get back to sleep. I will be having words next week about not coming in to us until her clock says 06! I also have a 3 year old though who cannot be reasoned to stay in bed so we shall see. If dd2 is up then I’m sure dd1 will make an appearance!

One lovely xmas, DD woke up at silly oclock. Me and husband came down stairs with her and started Xmas a tad earlier than we would like. NDN, child free at the time, came home from a club, saw our lights on and joined us. We had a riotous time. DD over excited, NDN drunk as skunks me and husband deciding to join in the fun, albeit sober and sleep deprived.

I did enjoy NDNs attempt to put the Wendy house together

HarrietSchulenberg · 18/12/2020 23:19

At 13, 18 and 20 I'll be lucky to see them all downstairs before 11am. I am not sorry that the 4am awakenings have ceased.

@Thedarknightsaredrawingin

I usually wake DD3(9) by 9am and send her in to wake her teenage and adult siblings!
I tend to send my youngest in to wake her older siblings too, otherwise they'd probably still be in bed at lunchtime Xmas Smile
Stressedmummyof4 · 19/12/2020 01:01

I have a little one aged 9 with asd absolutely hopeless sleeper even with melatonin he'll be up between 2 and 4 in the morning I'll have to pacify him with tv or cartoons until it's a decent time to get the rest up lol. Last year we had only just got to bed and the little one got up an hour later, we then take it in turns to have a nap once everyone is up and presents opened or we wouldn't last the day Grin

CuppaZa · 19/12/2020 01:05

I have to physically wake up my late teens now Sad, or it’ll be lunchtime

Pyewhacket · 19/12/2020 02:45

I have to be on duty by 6.30 so I’ll be up at 5ish. My husband will be up at 7 , as usual , kids are 18,16 and 14 so I guess 10 ish.

desperatehousewife21 · 19/12/2020 07:29

6am here same as the rest of the year. 2 DCs, a dog, rabbit and 2 guinea pigs Grin

SuePreem · 19/12/2020 07:31

I have a 7am limit with my children too - I have never allowed the day to start at 5am - I just couldn't function if I was tired, and the day would be too exhausting and long.

Now they're older and normally I'm awake before them waiting for them to get up!

katienana · 19/12/2020 07:32

6 I reckon. Dh will make tea, kids will open stocking on our bed which should take 30 minutes or so. I was up at 5 as a kid so its not too bad!!

Fantail · 19/12/2020 07:36

Not allowed out of bedroom until 7am (just DD9).

Stocking is under the tree so no temptation to wake at 3am.

Plsv87 · 19/12/2020 07:42

Mine have started sleeping in until about 7 but I've got a feeling xmas morning might be a little earlier...

Hill1991 · 19/12/2020 07:51

Last year I was up at 4:30 ds didn't get up until 7 that was torture I'm hoping he's up before 7 this year I'm like a kids though and get too excited to sleepGrinmy dp thinks I'm abit crazy when it comes to Christmas

MrJinxyCat · 19/12/2020 08:40

We say no earlier than 6, don’t mind so early for one day. Usually have family coming over mid morning so gives us a chance to open presents, have breakfast and get showered before they arrive.
They go into each other before waking us, and open the presents they’ve bought each other.

InTheCludgie · 19/12/2020 10:11

My oldest is always up and about by 6, younger can sleep longer but they share a room so will no doubt be woken up early too. I've told DS not to come through to me until 6 so they will hopefully play quietly until then

DowntonCrabby · 19/12/2020 10:28

My 2 (16 and 7) love a lie in, I had to wake them last year as we only had the morning at home before driving to relatives for a few days.

I’ll probably leave them until 9am this year before I go in to jump on their beds!!
How times change, the eldest was a much earlier riser when younger, the youngest has always been a night owl.

Ellapaella · 20/12/2020 15:49

I'm always up first! I have 3 boys, 18, 10 and 6. The last few years I have been up at 6.30 waiting for them to wake up which is usually around 7.30-8.

MissEllaWater · 20/12/2020 17:50

DD usually wakes up around 5am (too excited to sleep any longer) but stays in her room until I get up at around 6.30am. I then join her there for hot chocolate and general excitement for an hour or so until we go and wake up DH and it's present unwrapping time. I love our Christmas mornings, just me and DD - they're one of the most precious things we do.

DD is 24, by the way 🤣

Peta11 · 20/12/2020 18:05

I will be lucky to be asleep after 3 am ...DD11 is always the most excited person in the world and wakes DD8 .
It used to be that I would wake them by ringing sleigh bells at 6/7 when they were younger x
