As always seems to happen, I get so excited for Xmas from Sept but then never do the things on my list! So thought I'd write out what I still want to do before Xmas which is only 8 days away!

To watch:
-Home Alone
-Home Alone 2
-Love Actually
-The Christmas Chronicles
-The Happiest Season

To read:
-The Christmas Sisters (current book)
-The Christmas Invitation
-Winter Solstice

To eat/drink:
-Mince pies
-Baileys
-Fizz
-Hot mulled cider
-Mini cheddar cheeslet things
-Dry roasted peanuts

To do:
-Xmas zoom calls with friends/family
-Read my Good Housekeeping xmas magazine that I keep forgetting about (preferably under a blanket with a Starbucks eggnog latte)
-Christmas colouring book
-Drawing/sketching Xmas scenes
-Xmas cocktails/drinks (outdoor drinking is still allowed where I am)
-Wear my vast collection of Xmas earrings
-Paint my nails a festive red

Not sure I'll get all that done by next Friday but I'm going to try!

What is everyone else planning to do before the big day? Xmas Grin

@Santaisironingwrappingpaper - I would LOVE that. I love brass bands and carols. When the Sally Army play in shopping centres, I'd stay for the whole performance and have to be dragged away.Very jealous Grin

Make mince pies
Drink all the festive drinks (mulled wine, bubbles, eggnog, snowballs)
Wrap gifts with music and said drink(s)
Finish work!

Watch Christmas films.
Crack open the Christmas chocolate tubs.
Crack open the baileys.
Crack open the Christmas biscuit boxes.
Eat my nuts in shells. (Love these at Christmas)

Oh, I'm not even sure I can come up with a huge list like that!
Ok, so here is what came to my mind:

Visit a hairdresser
Tint eyebrows
Nail design - ?
Putting christmas lights on my window
Finishing Smartshow 3D slideshow for my relatives
Handing in work Secret Santa present
Trying to bake ginger cookies
Make sure I can't bake them properly
Get a bunch of ginger cookies from the local bakery
Re-watching Home Alone
Re-watching Harry Potter (parts 1-4)

Hahaha @TheVeryThing definitely not sarcastic but can see how you might think that! I genuinely do love all things xmassy all year round!

Love these lists especially the Xmas jigsaw and the forest walks!

I ticked off 3 things that weren’t even on my list yesterday Grin

I went for the snowy lunchtime walk, decorated my Xmas cake and watched Klaus last night. I’m definitely going to try and do something festive and nice every day now leading up to xmas day.

For us the fun only really begins tomorrow when the dc get holidays and I feel we can swing into fun mode.
Friday isn’t a deadline though - we love the days after Christmas here.
I’ve deliberately held back on most of the stuff on your list so that we’ll have plenty to do as we’ll be isolating before seeing grandparents towards the end of the school holiday.

Tiggles · 18/12/2020 17:31

Well as a vicar most things will have to revolve around my work...
So far we have been to 3 outdoor carol sings
Outdoor nativity scenes
Hidden hundreds of angels around the village for people to find.

Tomorrow is the Facebook christingle
Then Christmas eve is Facebook crib service and Midnight Mass along with an in person midnight mass. Christmas day service.
Oh and Carol For Wales - singing Silent Night on our doorsteps at 7pm on Christmas Eve

ChippyTea16 · 18/12/2020 20:12

Sounds beautiful @Tiggles I love carols!

I’ve been using my Xmas colouring book (forgot how relaxing that was!) and painted my nails a festive red today. The baileys will be cracked open tonight I think too!
