I need some help please! I'm placing my food shopping order today and still can't think what puddings to do.

I need a transportable chocolate based pudding for Christmas Day for people who don't like Christmas pudding. Doesn't have to be grand as it's just really for DH and he's very easily pleased. Not chocolate yule log as I'm making one for Christmas Eve.

I also need something that I make that's impressive for Boxing Day, whereby I don't need to put ingredients in the freezer (no space). Ideally I'd like to buy everything now as we're isolating up until Christmas, so if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, then I have one more attempt next week.

I am having a brain dead moment.

You can get chocolate bombes that are in the same sort of packaging as a Christmas pudding?

If you can transport it in a dish, then James Martin’s Black Forest trifle or this tiramisu www.you.co.uk/donna-hay-chocolate-tiramisu-pie/

If not, then this salted caramel tart realfood.tesco.com/recipes/salted-caramel-tart.html

I’ve had success before with a chocolate fridge cake that looks like a pudding: www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/christmas_pudding_fridge_58372. It should transport reasonably well, we drove ours about 40 mins in the car last year.

This year I’m going to make the pudding mostly in advance, so think it will be a Christmas wreath pavlova, something like www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/christmas_pavlova_20589. The fruit might need to be bought nearer the time though I suppose if you were using fresh. I’m going for a topping of gin-soaked dried fruit Gin.
