Inspiration needed for wrapping an envelope!

Hi all, I'm looking for creative hive minds please! DP's main present is a voucher and it's just a piece of card in an envelope but I'd like to present it in more of an exciting way!

I received some photo frames in a nice slim box the other day but threw it in the (communal) recycling before realising it would have been perfect!

Any ideas as to how to wrap an envelope creatively? I don't really want to buy anything else but have wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbon etc in the house and could probably find a small box even if it means throwing out the food it contains.

Thanks in advance Smile

You can make the envelope out of wrapping paper and tie it over the 4 edges with a ribbon/bow. Then attach a gift tag to it

Madbengalmum · 13/12/2020 14:54

Just pop it in a small box and wrap that.

Can you get something relating to the voucher to wrap with it.

If I get some one tickets I put them in a cd/record/dvd.

I once got tickets to a gig wrapped inside a box in a box in a box - when i opened the first layer i thought it was a toaster! Good fun.

Just get a gift box, Amazon do loads of them.

Can you roll the voucher into a tube and then wrap it to look like a Christmas cracker?

thefemaleJoshLyman · 13/12/2020 15:07

My mum and dad one wrapped an encyclopaedia for me with my present (money) in the page where my name was.

Is it a voucher for an experience where you could buy a cheap toy something related to it and wrap the voucher up with that? Eg if it's a rally driving experience you could buy a toy rally car in a box and wrap the voucher with that.

Thanks all. I considered a big box but he's also getting slippers and they'll be a pain to wrap so they're going in an empty wine box.

I like the idea of something related to it. The voucher is for piano lessons so maybe I can find a suitable book (other than sheet music, he won't be having a piano at home for a long time!).

Or maybe this... GrinGrinGrin

You could frame the voucher in one of your new photo frames (or any other) and wrap that.

Actually, I think I might do that for DU. One of his presents is a flower subscription.

A jam jar. Make the envelope into a cylinder, wrap tinsel round it and put in a jar.

Wrap it up like a pass the parcel with newspaper and fancy paper on the outside.

Get tissue paper, scrunch some into a ball, put the envelope around the scrunch, add more scrunched paper, then take a couple of final sheets and use them to make a sort of parcel shape, if you have ever has filo parcels, you can do it like that.

Find out how to make an origami box, make 6 in increasing sizes and pack them inside each other like a Russian doll.

I have done all three, I don't like people to guess what they are getting.

DuzzyFuck · 13/12/2020 15:18

Ooh @FlouncingBabooshka that's a lovely idea if the frames were not also for him (with pictures of his Mum & Dad I've sneakily had printed).

I like the jar idea @sashh, we have plenty of those knocking around (and DP loves jam so will likely just think that's what I've got him!).

chocolate pianos would probably go well with the voucher. Otherwise wrap it up pass the parcel style until you get a fairly decent sized package. Add bizarre piano facts/jokes/puns to each layer for novelty effect.

Tie it to a ribbon, tie the other end of the ribbon to a helium balloon, put balloon & envelope into a box, wrap box.
When he lifts the lid, the balloon rises out bringing the envelope with it.

Buy one of those big tubes of orange smarties/pastilles etc that are around at Christmas and put the voucher in the tube along with the sweeties.
If you want a cheapish music based present, I have seen pairs of socks with treble clefs and keyboards on them.

elQuintoConyo · 13/12/2020 22:01

Put it in a ziplock bag, the bigger the better, inflate it then seal it up quickly. Wrap it. It will stump him what's inside: light, rattley when shaken, soft Xmas Grin I'm evil at wrapping!
