I just got a parcel from DD's godmother and realised I completely forgot:
Their DS, aged 10, very into construction toys/transport etc. Not into football. Does play Minecraft (I think, it may be Roblox but I think it's Minecraft).
My own goddaughter (was 7 in September. we got her a board game). I've not bought for her brother's birthday which is shortly nor for him for last Christmas as far as I can recall so I may skip him.
The couple that are DD other godmother and one of DS godfathers (we will probably send them something foody; they have grownup children so we usually buy for them instead)
And they want an idea for my own DS who is nearly 9 - he's getting an old Wii for Christmas and games for it for his early Jan birthday and they will want ideas for his birthday too I fear. We can't find anywhere that takes vouchers for games for that either.

There's another couple where he is DD's godfather but I don't remember them actually buying DD anything last year, or for her birthday, so I may ignore.

Then my two nieces aged 15 and 17. I have a book for one of them, and I'm getting them both wrist warmers, and I will find a book for the other one, I also have a present I've been meaning to send for a while which is a light box, is this still OK for this age do you think? And what kind of thing would be equivalent? Neither of them are in the least bit fashion/trend oriented, the older one (who I don't have a book for yet) is very arty, doing Art Higher. The younger one is more into books.

Then there are teachers, cleaner, etc. etc. but I'll leave those to DH!

Oh no! I forgot my DF! I was going to take him a selection of Booths' food but even sending it is problematic as it may need refrigerating. I could send him chutney, cheese biscuits etc. but not really cheese. He would prefer savoury or I'd send him a sweet selection. He is really hard to buy for as his hobbies are very specific, he buys all his own (very carefully selected) drink and though he reads a lot, he's read everything and in many cases knows the author. I've got him puzzle books in the past and a newspaper of his birth date jigsaw. DS quite rightly says "grandpa is boring, he likes wine and newspapers".

Anyone?
I have just thought that DS would probably like a really good nightlight - must be a) completely indestructible even if thrown/fiddled with and b) not very bright or he'd read till 2am.

Neals yard do a great cheese delivery service, I've used it a few times.

Gizlotsmum · 08/12/2020 11:40

I haven’t really started and have no idea what to get my own children let alone anyone else!! Also very aware I am running out of time to get things delivered!!

Maybe this for the 10 yr old Minecraft/ construction fan? It's a new set so he hopefully won't have it already...

drspouse - does your DF like coffee? Lots of independent coffee roasters in the UK, nice to try something different. I've used Ffa Da in North Wales - the Christmas blend is lovely.

Starbucks/Costa/equivalent vouchers for the nieces?

drspouse · 08/12/2020 12:40

That's a good idea, I'll get it from somewhere my friends can exchange it if necessary.

@OhTheTastyNuts

Starbucks/Costa/equivalent vouchers for the nieces?
I think they might prefer those when they can meet friends though one of them has a spring birthday 👍🏼

Right, cheese and Lego ordered, friends will have to wrap the Lego (I hate doing that but this year, I think it's wiser than sending it to us and wrapping).
The goddaughter has recently got a kitten so a book about cats that my own DD loves will work for her, and I think we may just ignore the others (though one book for the arty DN would be good).
Still not sure about the light box for the younger DN.
