FC fills stocking on bed with lots of little bits and bobs and a few more pricey things. Everything downstairs from the person who actually buys it apart from a few little FC things granny gets.

Skribble · 21/10/2007 14:26

Don't get why FC gets all the credit . One of my aunties told kids everything was from FC including presents from other relations, so kids didn't even know to say thanks.

ArmadilloDaMan · 21/10/2007 14:34

stocking from FC, presents downstairs from us.

He ain't getting all the credit for my hard work (and hard earned cash)

pointydog · 21/10/2007 14:46

stocking and 3 presents under tree all from Santa.

Although have recently introduced one from us. CAn't remember why - must have been a reason one year

pinkspottywellies · 21/10/2007 14:49

We are in discussion over the FC issue. DH thinks presents from everyone (aunties, friends etc) should be at our house on Christmas morning because 'FC brings them'. I think FC brings all the children a present and contents of little stocking from himself. He's not just a delivery man. I think it's nice to spread presents out (ie, have them from aunties when you see them on christmas day/boxing day) and for people to see the children opening what they've bought and as other people have said for the buyer to get the credit.

Bit waffly - does that make sense?!

stressteddy · 21/10/2007 14:53

Perfect sense pinkwellies

Why would you want to say relatives' gifts are from Santa? Do all the relatives agree to that?

pointydog · 21/10/2007 14:57

yes, wellies, you are sensitlbe

Debbiethemum · 21/10/2007 15:04

Stockings & 'tree' presents from FC. Everybody gets credit for what they gave & we give presents as well.

Also agree with pinkwellies and like people to be able to watch their present being opened (also saves on thank you letters).

BTW 'tree' presents are small parcels (one for everyone) hidden on the tree to be opend in the afternoon at tea time when we have the christmas cake.

Screaminglips · 21/10/2007 15:05

the big pressie is from "Father Christmas" and the rest were from us.

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 21/10/2007 15:12

DH and I had a big debate about this last year.

We decided.

FC brings the ONE big present and a stocking.
We get a present for DD too. And then relatives get presents for her and she knows who they are from.

JossStick · 21/10/2007 19:58

Pressies from Rellies from them.

Everything else from FC.

Where's the magic guys?
Isn't that more important than your DCs thanking you for them??

NomDeBroomstick · 21/10/2007 20:00

one pressie from FC, the rest from us (and rellies etc)

mrsmerton · 21/10/2007 20:01

Under the tree presents fromm us and rellies. They are the after breakfast, got dressed presents.

3am presents(I kid you not) in stockings at the end of the bed are from Santa. Putting those in their rooms is the BEST bit about Christmas for me.

tissy · 21/10/2007 20:02

FC only does stockings- silly little things that will fit into an average adult sock.

Everything else comes from a named person, so they can be properly thanked.

Hulababy · 21/10/2007 20:04

Father Christmas brings one present of his own for DD. The other presents, which he delivers ont he whole, come from us, family and friends and all are labelled as such.

mumeeee · 21/10/2007 20:56

My DDs are now 20,17,and 15. But when they were younger only stocking presents ame from Father Christmas. All other presents came from us and relations. This realy helped when teaching them about buying presents for each other. BMy sister and Brother do the same with thier children. It was also the way we were brought up.

mumeeee · 21/10/2007 20:58

I forgot to say our stockings were actually pillow case sized Father Christmas bags. We have stil got them and the girls still have stocking stuff!

TheApprentice · 21/10/2007 21:04

Mumeee thats what we did when we were kids and I intend to do similar with ds when he is old enough.

Most people are horrified when I explain that we used to have our stockings in the morning, then church, but had to wait till after lunch (and washing up!) for main presents. However, this worked really well, keeps the day going iyswim and the anticipation was so exciting!

NoBiggy · 21/10/2007 21:25

Presents in the stocking are from FC. All others are from whoever. Often DDs are with me when buying for other people. How would I explain that I'm buying presents for everybody else and not them?

MIL says father Christmas left presents at her house, and I so wish she wouldn't. Because she had her chance to play Santa with her own children, and now it's my turn.

bozza · 21/10/2007 22:06

It is difficult though because different people tell your children different things. Like my Mum tells them that Father Christmas left them some presents at her house. But not everyone says that.
