Any bright ideas for gorgeous godson? He is nearly 3. Youngest of 4 so they have a lot stuff! Thinking maybe nice wooden-y type things from babipur or similar? Maybe start a collection I can build on each xmas and bday? Normally spend up to £30

Little balance bike

Tamarasnotmyname · 06/12/2020 19:09

Magformers or similar magnetic building blocks?

Diddlysquatty · 07/12/2020 18:32

Thanks for all the ideas
I have a basic construction bench already and with the older siblings I think they are well off for duplo and trainsets.
Will definitely come back to those beautiful pop up books when he’s a little older, I think he might not take care of them now

What about the Grimms 36 rainbow coloured plain building blocks? Or do you think he/his mum will just think that’s boring and where’s the plastic?

Personally if I was going to go down the building blocks route, I would go for tree blocks. My two (5 and 20 months) both love them and there are all sorts of things you can add to them later e.g. peg dolls, wooden animals, other natural play items like pine cones, fossils, stones, gems, etc. Or pretty much anything from grimms or grapat or similar. I quite want the tomten nins myself!

Night projector - stars and sounds for bedtime wind down

First camera

Interactive books, Jolly Postman etc

Remote control anything

Ostheimer wooden animals are really lovely & wee ones always gravitate towards ours (you know when they were allowed in the house...Xmas Grin)

Brio!

An Apple tree to plant.
Binoculars or a bug box and bug book.
A wobble board.
Star projector for room.
Art or craft things, if parents are heaving under all the ‘stuff’ already?
A voucher for local zoo, theatre or pony centre.
Spinning tops
Can second tree blocks, they’re great. Bet they already have blocks though?
Stablio Woody pencils are absolutely the best for little kids, the colours are gorgeous and rich and you can paint with them too, they are reduced on Amazon just now. (Or lots of less awful places)!

Grimms elements. My little grandson loves the fire best. You could add to them each year. Get the £23/25 range size and a book with a fire theme too? Then earth next year etc.

Swim bag with his name on, with a pair of trunks, character towel and a noodle.
Character dressing gown/pjs/slippers.
A dressing up box. Even if they already have lots of dressing up clothes, I bet some of them are a bit bedraggled! And if you buy for aged 3, the older ones won't be able to borrow them!

I would have been over the moon if someone got those Grimm's blocks for mine, but will the parents appreciate them?

Quercetti tubations are a fabulous toy for this age.
