What would I like for £50?

DP has said he has about £50 left of our agreed Christmas budget for an extra present for me and he’d like it to be something i choose so he knows I like it (he’s not very confident with present buying and I think doing me a stocking has stressed him out!)

The problem is I can’t think of anything I’d really like for £50. I’m late 20s, no children, don’t like tat or clutter and aiming to move next year so don’t want to ask for anything for the house. We both have high paying jobs so tend to buy anything we especially want.

What would you ask for?

Well as you've both got high paying jobs and everything you want then isn't £50 neither here nor there?

If there's nothing you want then what is the point in spending for the sake of it. Just get credit at the beauty/hair salon or something?

A cashmere scarf or wrist warmers
High-end candle (think Neom or similar)
A lovely belt
Gift voucher for local coffee shop (if you frequent one)
Gift voucher for a local beauty salon to have a manicure
Something just for you from Ann Somers Xmas Wink

FizzyPink · 04/12/2020 16:51

A beauty salon voucher is a good idea actually, a gift but something I’d definitely make use of

Some perfume? A bit bland, but always welcomed gift

Ladybookreader · 05/12/2020 01:32

As you need, want or desire anything maybe do a 50 shop in lidl /aldi for pastas tins and Christmas chocolates and drop into your local food bank

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 05/12/2020 05:35

Orange Biters Jo Malone candle for me. Would be used by new year but so lovely.

SillyOldMummy · 05/12/2020 07:36

Give it to charity?

FippertyGibbett · 05/12/2020 07:41

Some fluffy, warm PJ’s to slob around the house in.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 05/12/2020 08:21

Boden brushed jersey pull-ons
L'Occitane Cherry Blossom body lotion
A massive stollen! Grin

greenspacesoverthere · 05/12/2020 08:29

Give the money to a food bank or local homeless charity.

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/12/2020 08:38

Some premium bonds.

Littlemissnutcracker · 05/12/2020 08:40

A nice dressing gown

goose1964 · 05/12/2020 17:00

Books, you could get a series for that price

LizzieMacQueen · 05/12/2020 18:37

I like stationery so I'd ask for a leather diary. Or almost anything from Liberty. Love that shop.

theorangesisters · 05/12/2020 18:44

If you couldn't think of anything material that you wanted you could sponsor an animal for a year. My mum loves yorkies, so I've sponsored a yorkie in long-term foster care on her behalf.

copperoliver · 05/12/2020 22:54

Pjs. X
Or give £38 to the Salvation Army to feed to homeless people for Christmas x

copperoliver · 05/12/2020 22:54

Meant to say two. *

Serin · 05/12/2020 23:12

Just give it to charity.

pinkksugarmouse · 05/12/2020 23:36

Sponser a Guide Dog. They send you "pup dates" about how the dog is progressing with photos so you can see them growing up.

pinkksugarmouse · 05/12/2020 23:39

🤔 I am wondering if this is a joke actually. It seems a bit strange in the current climate to ask what to waste money on when you don't want anything. It's poor taste. IMHO.

NeverTwerkNaked · 09/12/2020 17:43

FGS the op may well give plenty to charity already.
She's allowed to be treated to something - Christmas would be very different if everyone were as puritan as the people on this thread!

how about a nice pair of earrings.

A really decent scented candle

Some sports equipment

a really good pen. I love the expensive pen (Mont Blanc) my dad gave me, reminds me of him in tense work meetings!

a picture from a favourite artist or photographer

"in this climate" I expect a small independent business would love her husband's custom

I bought my parents a picture from my favourite artist for Christmas and she put a lovely handwritten note in with it thanking me purchasing from her again

A massage

cryingcatmeme · 09/12/2020 18:19

Luxury everyday items or things to enjoy indoor like candles, lounge clothes, bath bombs, massage oil, book, chocolates, slippers, fluffy throw blanket, snacks, snacks, cheese, wine or coffee. A hamper of it sounds lovely.
