And can you still buy them?

Yes! Can't remember what they were called.

I wish I could find them! I remember as a child getting a small box of long, rectangular dark chocolates for with fondant. I think they were by Lindy and we always called them 'cats tongues' because that was the nearest shape!

Yes, my nan and grandad always used to put them on their tree. Some of them were fish shaped, if I remember correctly (was a very long time ago!)

Yes! I can still remember the texture and specific taste- sometimes you can get the odd one in the brown bags of misshaped chocolates you can buy at Iceland/ Poundland

Yes, I remember them fondly. We always had them on the tree when I was a child , late 1940s , early50s.
They came in a box with indentations to fit each shape which were many and varied.
I have not seen similar ones for years, sadly. The hollow chocolate ones are a poor substitute.

I'd really like to get some - they were lovely

Katymac, I think we are doomed to disappointment. I tried Fortnum and Mason, Harrods and Liberty as possibilities but no luck. Lots of moulds for making your own fondant shapes but that would be one Christmas step too far for me. Xmas Sad

@TrickyD far too much for me this year tbh!

Another year I might have a go!

Not shaped but beechsfinechocolates.com/ have a good range of fondant filled chocolates.

I like those and there used ro be a company called Whittaker who did lovely ones too

But the Christmas Tree ones were quite different i think- with an usual flavour

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping, yes, Beech chocolates are very good, but we want little recognisable shapes encased in foil with thread for hanging them on the tree.
I can almost taste that flavour now Katymac.
