She is getting a scooter, Operation and an LOL from Santa, plus little bits in a stocking
We also get a present from us. Here I am stuck as she's just had her birthday.

Her bro (7) is getting similar from Santa and hotwheels from us, and her sis (2) is getting Sylvanian families from Santa and kinetic sand from us.

So what could I get her for £30 max? I am happy to buy second hand.
She loves cycling, running, cooking, crafts and drawing, writing, and is desperate for a crybaby, but I want to avoid too much plastic if possible.
She is not into Lego and has a bike, a skateboard and all the accessories.

We've bought our 5yr old dd a pair of heelys - she wanted them for her summer birthday but sizes dont start until junior 11 and now her feet are finally big enough! You can get a sale pair for around £30. We've got her a suitcase from matalan, fully functional identical to an adults but smaller (fits in cabin). We know she'll love it for any overnight trip, not just holidays.
A set of babushka dolls. You can spend as much or little as you like depending on quality/finish, but she was obsessed with my mums set last year.
And this one is plastic tat but she has coveted a rainbowcorn for months so is getting one from grandma. HTH!

Thank you. I will look up the babushka dolls.

I like the look of the adventurer kit. She loves gardening too. Last year she got gardening gloves in her stocking and really loved using them all year.

I've made my daughter 4.5 a box of a tovity books (she has a sticker book, a velvet colouring book, magic water painting book and a fairy transfer one) is that something she would like

I've also got her small gifts such as a small handbag from Claire, barbie and sylvanian family blind bags, a soft toy, small cat necklace from Claire, mosiac sticker set, jigsaw and book set

Oh sorry just seen it wasn't stocking fillers you wanted.

Disney store have some lovely character delux art sets if she likes drawing. I bought one for Dd to put away for her birthday in the black Friday sale

Thanks. Some nice ideas. I think I will get her something colouring related. There are some nice ideas on Notonthehighstreet.

If she is really truly desperate for a crybaby and would play with it a lot and you don’t have an absolute ban on plastics ( or don’t want them for health concerns) could you not just get her that? If it would make her very happy ( it may not of course and might be just a fad and as her parent you obviously no best!).

DipSwimSwoosh · 04/12/2020 10:49

The crybaby is a consideration which is why I mentioned it. I wondered what others would think.

I don’t have any experience of the crybaby but I guess it depends how against plastic you are?

Sometimes it means so much to a child to get the one thing they really want ( particularly if they know it’s something their parent wouldn’t us usually buy! Much smaller but I always get my kids some small cans of coke at Christmas for this reason and it’s often one of their favourite presents would you believe!)

Rainallnight · 04/12/2020 14:09

I’m with @littlestpogo here. I think if she’s mad Keen and not the sort of thing she’d usually get, it would make her so happy!

I’m usually against plastic crap that’s advertised on telly so I see where you’re coming from.

DipSwimSwoosh · 06/12/2020 09:21

Thanks for all the input.
I have followed advice and she now has a crybaby! And a world map colouring book, so a slight compromise! Can't wait to see her face on Christmas Day! Thanks all.

Oh God! The Crybaby arrived and it is truly hideous, it's going back. And the coluring book is nothing special either... fed up with online shopping!
