Coffee machine for a teenager

Can anyone recommend a coffee machine as a gift for a teenager

Likes espresso so thinking they could keep it in their room

Budget is about £100 but flexible on that and thinking I might still get a cyber week deal

I just bought a Dolce Gusto and it's very straightforward & compact, uses pods which are expensive but Aldi do compatible ones bit cheaper.

Mine was bargain, only £50 on EBay, unwanted gift brand new and boxed, but think you can pick them up elsewhere for around £75.

DS loves his Dolce Gusto machine. There's lots of choice of pods, all types of coffee, hot chocolate, iced coffee - it's very versatile.

Nespresso is fantastic and there is a good deal on new machines. You can get 1 months free coffee.

If he likes espresso then I'd try to get one of these. It's more than your budget but you might be able to find it on offer. We have this one and it's proper espresso as opposed to pods which I'm not keen on from both an environmental and a taste perspective.

Thank you, I will look at all of these

My concern with pods is the expense of them buying the pods but interesting to know aldi do compatible ones

Dolce gusto is good and compact, you get the mini machine, 10 pod boxes and 2 recycling bags for £49.99.

B&M do the pods quite cheaply too. I bought some Horlicks and some Galaxy hot chocolate pods from there.

I have bought a Nespresso Essenza for DD.
You can use non branded compatible pods and you can also get compostable ones.

There's a great offer on Lakeland for a Lavazza Jolie plus milk frother (usually that alone is about £40) for £69 for both.

We've got a dolce gusto. You can get all sorts of different coffee/tea or hot chocolate.
Asda have what seems to be a pretty constant 3 for £10 on DG pods.
We get 3 boxes of flat whites from amazon a month for £9.

I think we spend about £30/£40 a month, and its used about 6 times a day.

Nespresso Essenza mini. Small water tank and capsule bin good for a single user and easy to pop in a corner. Make sure you get the recycling bags too.

I wouldn't suggest dolce gusto. Horrible nonrecyclable plastic capsules. Nespresso have Starbucks compatible pods sold in the supermarket too (recyclable).

And before anyone kicks off about reducing not recycling one Nespresso pod a day will create the same recyclable aluminium waste a month as a Tuna can.

My local Lidl had the proper delonghi coffee machine in stock yesterday. It’s not the same as the one linked above, but looks very similar. It was £99. Bean to cup rather than pods.

I had a Dolce Gusto pod machine and put it to the charity shop. The quality of the coffee wasn’t great. My sister has a Tassimo and loves it though.

Aeropress

My son loves coffee and has a basic grind and brew.......I think I paid £60 for it. And another 20 on sacks of beans.
