Artificial trees

We always have a real one, at least we have for the last 30 years. DS22 asked if we could get the tree up early this year and I agreed on condition I can get an artificial tree.
Any recommendations?
I want 6' without lights.

Ikea do some nice ones.

That being said ive already had to take mine down because my kitten/cat (9months) keeps eating/climbing in it. For what its worth the 6ft is really robust for that kind of thing if thats relevant

You will get plenty of recommendations for Balsam Hill. I suggest looking at Christmas Tree World, cheaper and at least as good quality,

Balsam Hill. Nothing compares IMO. I was a hater of all artificial trees until I found these.

Ours from The White Company is v nice

Always had real trees. A couple of years ago we bought an expensive artificial John Lewis tree. It’s very realistic looking and very nice.

But it’s utterly soulless and we both want a real tree again. But it was so expensive we need to get more monies worth out of the fake one 😏

Will look at those. It has to be online as I don't live near any shops.

We're in exact same position as you OP, agreed to put it up tomorrow and bought her a lovely tree is B&Q for £68 reduced from £98. They had some really nice ones from £30-£180

We’ve always had a real one but have bought an artificial one from John Lewis this year for the first time. I am worried about it being soulless but we’ve bought some scentsicles in the hope that we’ll get the tree smell. I am thinking of getting a small real one for the living room though Blush

We bought one in b&q to go in the kitchen...was quick and easy to put up and I think looks ok...

Bought a Balsalm Hill one this year, it takes a lot of fluffing to get it looking right. They provide 2 pairs of gloves to do it.

Artificial trees can be quite wide, you need to check the size of the place you are putting it. A 6 foot Balsalm Hill tree, even the "narrow" or "slim" ones will be 40 inches diameter.

The more "tips" it has the better it is likely to look and you may want a tree skirt of blanket to hide the stand.

I got a nice 7ft pre-lit one from Debenhams a few years ago in a sale. It's the nicest one I've had and much bushier than some other artificial trees.

ozymandiusking · 28/11/2020 23:35

Please will you tell me why you want one without lights? TIA

Phyzzy · 29/11/2020 13:02

@ozymandiusking I have loads of lights already.

Having looked online the delivery is pretty slow or it's collection only so I think I'm going to go and get a real one from the farm up the road after all!
