Present ideas to aid sleep for DH

Oh wise ones, do you have any gift ideas that aid a decent night's sleep? DH had really bad insomnia for a couple of years approximately 15 years ago and whilst in the ten years we've been together he's been okay, he does still struggle sometimes to get a good night's sleep.

We have a fan for a breeze/white noise but I'm wondering if there's anything (bar drugs, boring company!!) I can get that may help him. Even if it seems dull he's not materialistic so thought this may be a good area to explore for presents. Thanks

Sleep spray from holland and barrett- magnesium as active ingredient- amazing!

There are tech wearables like Kokoon headphones or apps like Calm which give you more content with a subscription. Books - arianna huffington’s sleep book, or a good breath work book (the breath guy)

Sleep aid spray for pillows. I've not used it, but assume it's lavender oil or similar. Companies such as Pukka do sleep aid herbal teas too. You can often see gift collections of these types of things around Christmas time.

A weighted blanket

notapizzaeater · 23/11/2020 20:33

Electric blanket, the works sleep spray, magnesium body oil/butter

2nd the Weighted Blanket
I bought one for DD for when she started University ( after her sleep pattern being all to pot in lockdown)

She loves it . It's like being swaddled , but nicer .
Takes a while to get used to

Yes a weighted blanket and some of that Sleepy body lotion from Lush.

Headspace subscription maybe? Hard to wrap up though!

Twilightstarbright · 23/11/2020 20:52

This Works sleep spray is a miracle worker.

Orthopaedic pillow. Amazing.

Calm app is fab. I hate being read to with a passion but I'm addicted to their audio stories now!
Also space masks (chamomile scent is mild)

Magnesium flakes if he will have a bath!

I saw this clock on a present recommendation list and thought it would make a fab present for my sister who suffers from insomnia.

Hatch Restore Alarm Clock

I don’t know if you can get it this side of the Atlantic though :-(

I think you can get subscriptions to the calm app, I also love it. We have a white noise machine rather than relying on a fan itself, I don't know if that would be of any use over winter. Rather than a weighted blanket we have a wool duvet (heavier than synthetic ones) and in winter use a proper old school wool blanket - I got a vintage Jonelle one off ebay - on top of the duvet. The weight is absolutely lovely.

I like the sleepmasks recommended above, too.
