Christmas Food items to send to the States

I want to send a few food items to the States, to remind the recipient of Christmas at home, but I am struggling to think of things that you can send by post. So far, I have come up with a selection box, a box of Celebrations and a mulled wine sachet.

Does anyone have any more suggestions? Also, are mince pies forbidden by Royal Mail/the US postage system?

The Royal Mail website will tell you. Did you check?

You can’t send fruit, so mince pies are out.

Shortbread biscuits go down well with my US relatives. Chocolate coins?

I know its not particularly christmas but everyone I know in the US goes nuts over flakes and kit kats

Betty's of York are doing some Christmas hampers / bags to send to the USA, which include things like tea and Christmas cake. I'm sending one to a friend of mine.

proper crisps

Betty's is a great idea, AdventureisWaiting, thank you. I think I will probably go with one of their packages, and then put another one together of separate things I know she (my daughter) likes. I just wanted Christmassy things rather than the usual stuff I send.

I didn't look at the Royal Mail website KaptainKaveman, as I assumed, possibly incorrectly, that they would tell me what I couldn't send rather than suggest things I should!!

Thanks for confirming that mince pies are out, *NewLockdown." I hadn't really thought of them as fruit!! Chocolate coins are a good shout though.

Hi OP, I am currently living in the US and Like a op said, I also think you should choose a website that will deliver a) so you don’t have to pay and absolute fortune and b) you won’t get caught out with banned items.

Have a look at british corner shop they have a Christmas section.

Selection boxes, mince pies, tea, british chocolate, mini cheddars ‘treeslets’, stuffing, pickled onions and fudge are all stuff I miss from home!

Does it have to be Christmas inspired?

I would get their favourite snacks that they don’t have access to over there. Especially M&S treats! Americans vloggers seem to love M&S as they can tell the difference in quality.

Christmas wise, obviously it depends on what is traditional in your household as everyone is different. Advent calendar perhaps

Be careful about the postage costs. A friend recently paid £50 to send a few small items to the states.
