If so what are you putting in them? Where did you get the kit and how much?

Yes, a kit for 6 crackers from Sainsbury's, think it was something like £2.50. Jokes and hats included but you add your own gift - I'm putting in specific Lego minifigures for each person.

I bought the ones from Sainsbury's too. Not sure what to put in, perhaps a nice chocolate.

Oh they are cheaper than the ones I saw online thank you Smile

I'm thinking of putting earrings in for dd and not sure about my dad and his partner yet! I wanted to make them pretty decent presents as I have never done my own crackers before 🙂

I got them in Sainsbury’s today, they were half price! I’m not planning on putting anything in them, being mean, but I’m hoping that making them will be the treat for the DC.

Sweeties probably, tailored to the individual.

I was given a set by someone who said they would never get round to doing it. They are the pack that looks like a nutcracker. I have seen them on Amazon for about 7 or 8 pounds. I plan to decorate them myself - ie white paper around the barrel red stars and a chocolate gold coin

I will replace the cheap hats with the ones I saved from last year from a good quality box. I will print my own jokes as two of the people have other languages. And obviously add my own gifts.

Good luck OP

Have a look on etsy for tiny little things to put in them. I've got little silver keyrings, phials of seeds, lego mini figures, there's lots of stuff on there.

Forgot to say what I am putting in my crackers. Bought some Cath Kidston lanyards in their sale. Bookmark cross stitch kits from eBay (they roll up small). Metal extendable straws on a keyring from eBay. Sleep eye mask from Amazon and a Miniature bottle of someone's favourite whiskey.

The cracker gifts are one of the main reasons I decided to make my own this year. Despite buying high end crackers - it still ended up being the same old wine stopper, lone biscuit cutter and bottle opener.

My aunt always made crackers from scratch. Loads of them; as a child we used to have crackers with literally every meal over Christmas. Including breakfast. Everyone sent her small things throughout the year to put in them. The actual Christmas Day ones were special named ones, including ones with things like miniatures of single malt whisky for the men!

I normally do surgery on normal crackers, as they're nicer than the kit ones (I get them in M&S in Christmas week, when they're half price). This year, however, I have given myself the gift of cheating, and am just going to give people a 'cracker present' that doesn't actually have to fit in the cracker. (I fully appreciate that's ridiculous, but it's 2020 so whatever.)

Have used John Lewis empty ones in the past, the naice option. I think about £8 for 6.

After filling my own for a few years, its ended up as an extra hassle trying to find different things, so I've gone easy this year.

I've just got 100% recyclable pre made family crackers from Dunelm, and I'm going to add in a an extra Lindt chocolate.
