I think dd would like one of these for her birthday in a few weeks.
I will get all the bits to go with it - cream, chocolate, strawberries etc
Her real present is not available until after the date of her birthday aadn she knows this but we'd still like to have something for her to open on the day.

Do you have one and is there a particular one you would recommend?

Thanks

I have a Russell Hobbs sandwich maker with plates for waffles. It might not be wow enough as a gift though.

I r just replaced my Russel Hobbs with a salter version with deeper plates - makes fantastic waffles ( tried out this morning) and reduced on Amazon at the moment. It has the changeable plates for deep full sandwiches / panini press/ waffle plates

I've got one from Aldi which is fab Grin not sure when they next do them though.

I got a Cooks Professional one from Amazon a couple of years ago. Just had a look and they are still available. Not a brand I'd come across before but it's brilliant. We use it loads and never had a dud waffle! Very easy to use and clean. Comes with a recipe book for basic and fancy variations.

We just got waffle plates to go in our Breville sandwich toaster.

Got one from Lidl last week that is fab - has interchangeable plates so can do waffles, toasted sandwich or panini. Less than £20.

I only came on to Mumsnet to have a browse before I did the dishes, and thanks to mrsbyers I've ordered that waffle maker! Thank you!

Thank you all so much for the suggestions!
I think the Cooks Professional one looks like the right one. I know multi purpose one that convert into sandwich maker / panini press would perhaps be more practical but dd doesn't like toasted sandwiches and I wanted this one to be just a waffle maker and clearly a birthday gift for her as opposed to a general household utensil.

Thanks again, so good to have feedback and suggestions

Happy to help! I was really surprised to see the online reviews which were a bit lukewarm. I've got no reservations at all and would whole heartedly recommend it. Hope your daughter likes it!

Does it have to be an electric one? I bought a stove top iron one recently that is amazing but I’m not sure how old your daughter is so this might not be practical.
My advice avoid the Lidl one that comes with other shapes (not the toastie one), we got it last year and it was really awful for sticking.

A couple of years ago I did loads of research (what a saddo) on waffle makers for my son. Apparently the best waffle maker on the planet is the Nordicware stovetop Belgian waffle maker and I have to say that we have had perfect waffles ever since.

It is simple but the waffles are fantastic.

I’m looking for a waffle iron too! Maybe we’ve just uncovered the in thing for Xmas this year 😂 makes sense though comfort food is definitely needed
