Dimmable fairly lights - do they exist?

The lights on the tree are sometimes too bright, even when just on still/static. Has anyone ever fond a set that they can adjust the brightness of?

Op do you not use Amazon? Because it takes two second to type it in the search bar there and find loads of sets.

Thanks oh wise one of your user name. Yes I have mastered google. Feeling rather absolutely shit this morning and needed cheering up, thought would ask for recommendations to make my life easier. But you have told me now.

I’ve looked, they’re not what I’m after. After green wired traditional looking warm fairy lights for a tree, around 500. That can be made less bright. Without messing with the plugs power as it’s not designed for that. But thanks again.

How about just push the lights further into your tree to make them less obvious?

sueelleker · 19/11/2020 09:55

I've been googling battery operated lights, and some of those have a brightness control.

Cassie71 · 19/11/2020 09:56

You need iridescent lights, they are the old style fairy lights, not as bright as LED lights.

There was no way for me to know you’re feelinf like shit snd you felt fairy light recommendations would be what you needed to cheer you up.

I had some from Lisa Angel a couple of months back, although they're the thin wire style. Might be worth a look though.

GreyishDays · 19/11/2020 11:40

Buy a set with fewer lights. Make sure they are warm white.

Both might help a bit.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 19/11/2020 11:46

I haven’t found a set you can adjust brightness on, but agree that warm white are much less jarring than bright white ones. Coloured ones are sometimes not as bright too.

thelegohooverer · 19/11/2020 11:55

Sorry to hear you’re feeling down. I didn’t even realise that these could exist. What a great idea- it would be nice to have them brighter in the afternoon and a bit dimmer in the evenings.

NerfThis · 19/11/2020 12:55

You can get smart Xmas lights that are full RGB, can adjust brightness, patterns, colours etc but they're very expensive (for Christmas lights)

They are called Twinkly :)

Can you still get these? I am so angry that I threw my parents' beautiful ones (that I bought them) when I cleared the house out away.

SunShinesStill · 19/11/2020 19:02

@Bluntness100 my turn to apologise for being super grumpy and taking it out on you.

Thanks for all the suggestions, off to google some of them. I would rather plug in lights than battery I think and having less might be the answer. Intrigued by the twinkly ones!

It’s ok, I was too, my apologies back. Have a glass of 🍷 on me. 😃

SunShinesStill · 19/11/2020 21:23

We’ll share the bottle 🙂
I think I’ll just be going with half the amount of lights as normal.

I found Asda ones disappointingly dim if that helps?
