So eldest son is 14 and has not asked for a single thing for Christmas! Asked and asked him offered him suggestions and he is certain there's nothing he's wanting or needing. Has new xbox console as he's saved all Christmas money, pocket money birthday money etc for the last year to get it himself. He has a phone and a laptop for schoolwork. So far he has an outfit, trainers, Pj's, boxers, socks, smellies and a book.. Not the most exciting of gifts but at least it's a start.

My D's 14 is having a huge cricket net for garden, matting and a bowling machine. He doesn't know and it is far more expensive than we usually spend on kids presents but it has been a hard year and he missed his cricket during lockdown. We are having to have a concrete strip made diagonally in our back garden to accommodate it.

I’ve got a teenage boy who’s the same. We get home headphones, new headset, books, T-shirt’s- either a football top or band, usually tickets for something but that not going to happen this year, aftershave- I buy the gift set of minis so he can give different scents a try.

BakewellGin1 · 15/11/2020 08:06

DS12 is exactly the same...

But the saving grace for us is he likes branded clothes and plays football
So far he has
Ea7, Lacoste and North Face sets
Air Max Trainers
Football Boots
Two Football Shirts
Coat
2 Books

Others including few novelty gifts so
PS Bedside Light
Pringles Christmas Cracker
Mug
PS Cosy Socks
PS gift card

He does want LED lights in his room so I'm going to order those but they will go up as a suprise in a few weeks because I can't see how getting them in a box on Christmas Day would be exciting Grin

Oh and in his stocking an IOU for tickets to his two favourite teams games as he loves going so will get tickets as soon as they start being available again

ArthurChristmas2 · 15/11/2020 08:33

I’ve just read this through the eyes of a mother of a teenage daughter. It’s exactly the same but without the gaming 😬😂

Runnerduck34 · 15/11/2020 08:57

A game for his new Xbox? Gaming headset or chair- something related to Xbox?
Still 5/6 weeks until xmas he may come up with ideas later on so give him a bit more time.

I know a lot of the experience ones might be a no no but I'm going to see if there is anything going on later in the year we could book in advance

Monr0e · 15/11/2020 11:48

Also, mine loves small things, no idea why

He gets a travel toiletry set
Miniature aftershave set with 4 scents
And his absolute favourite birthday gift this was a bonsai tree which my DM bought for him Confused

FloraFlamingo · 15/11/2020 11:52

Light up keyboard

Razr mouse

XL fabric mouse pad

Oodie

Mini fridge

Various fiddle toys that he likes

Various food gifts and chocolate sets

@BoulangerieBabs

I know it's pricey but dh has Amazon prime on his account and he got it cheaper. But it's blissfully comfortable because it's adjustable.

Would this double up as a comfy chair at a desk for school work?
ChristinaRussell · 15/11/2020 12:06

I have two older teenage boys and what I do is decide how much cash I'm giving them and split it up into different denominations. Then I put it into several envelopes and put each envelope into a box (any kind of boxes, differing sizes) with shredded/scrunched-up paper, and then gift wrap the boxes. That way they have something to open, and I don't feel like I'm simply handing over a few notes. It's good fun.

KeeefBurtain · 15/11/2020 12:21

Ds is getting a new laptop as his main gift, plus

Homer Simpson onesie
Hair clippers
Headset for Xbox
Multi tool thing
Shrek pjs

And will buy some little bits and pieces

Twisique · 15/11/2020 12:34

Rubix cubes

TheSunIsStillShining · 15/11/2020 13:07

heavy metal fan DS here so:

  • 2 posters, framed as they curl like hell.
  • 1 flag
  • 2 t-shirts - Iron Maiden and the other I can't remember
  • steak knife
  • 2 dinner plates - this is half joke... he complains every day about the rim making the plate actually small, so he gets 2 with no rim
  • steak plate - simple wooden carving board with a pig's nose engraved
  • hand knitted socks from 100% merino wool thanks to his knitting loving mother

potential: gaming chair and/or tablet

kowari · 15/11/2020 13:28

14 year old is now getting a black zip up Superdry hoodie with no large logos (fussy teen)

RelightMyPfizer · 15/11/2020 13:33

cash is king

AlwaysLatte · 15/11/2020 13:37

I notice people mentioning cyberpunk and watchdog legion games on here. My son has those two plus assassins creed Valhalla on his list. Are people on here going for those for under 18s? It would make his day to get them but I'm just really unsure.

AlwaysLatte · 15/11/2020 13:42

The gaming chair is a good idea. We bought ours one last year and he loves it , it has heating and massage function although he hardly uses those functions and the wheels can run over the wire. Also got him a custom made Xbox controller that we let him design himself beforehand. Year before that we bought him a big Mathmos lava lamp that he still uses everyday, and a Himalayan salt lamp for the gaming room.

Fiddlersgreen · 15/11/2020 22:16

Following with interest.
Mine has asked for a football shirt but nothing else.

I did something along these lines for DSS last year - put the cash into a japanese puzzle box for him so he had to work for it a bit Grin
