I think I'm going to get dd a fitbit as she wants one - need a few other ideas! She's 20. I also have an 18 year old who I'm a bit stumped with..She's just had a birthday and doesn't really need anything!

Leeds2 I got mone from an eBay seller. There was a deal on two so I bought a couple. They are literally a massive lump of pretty salt with a bulb in. Not sure you could go wrong with any really.

MrsMiaWallis · 11/11/2020 19:09

Are they a thing? Like an Urban Outfitters type thing? If so dd will want one

That is what I was thinking, MrsMia! I have only ever heard of them on Mumsnet Christmas threads!

I'm getting my DD18 perfume, loungewear / comfies as she is online learning in her uni flat, clothes (I tend to get it right) some pamper goodies, a charm for her bracelet

What about AirPods.

AdoraBell · 11/11/2020 20:17

Thanks for that Violetparis I’ll have a look at their website.

DD (18) has a Beauty Advent Calendar that I make up for her , so it forms part of her present list .
PJs, robe, underwear in her Dec 1st Hamper

I bought her 2 bottles of Stella perfume ( EdT and EdP )

She got a bag ( Urban Outfitters ) early present

She's hankering after a gold chain but undecided yet ..........

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2020 21:24

My friends salt lamp started to go weird she thinks it got damp and stopped workingConfused

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/11/2020 21:55

I'd have to lick it and see if it was real salt .......... Xmas Blush

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2020 21:59

Please don't go about licking lamps Grin

We brought salt lamps from Chile, we lived there. The lamps were fine, the climate there is much drier. Since moving back one of the lamps has starting dissolving. It was dripping water onto the base. DH moved it to the garage, where it continued to drip water.

I don’t think it’s Himalayan salt and I don’t know if that’s the problem.

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2020 22:08

My friends one was dripping she works in a beauty room and it was left during lockdown getting moist and dripping

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2020 22:08

Don't buy if you have cats

I am and I'm really struggling as I no longer know properly what she's into as it changes so often.

She's really into her make up and has said she wants morphe palettes (who I'd never heard of!) and I wanna get her a beauty advent calendar but NO idea where to start!

I'd also like to find her a good perfume sampler? Fruity sweet scents are her style more than spicy or herby, floral on occasion. She hasn't found "her" perfume yet

@MrsJayy how about "newlywed" type ideas for them? Cookbooks, soft furnishings, photo frames, art, ornaments, vases? The kind of thing makes a home a home but a young couple on a tight budget might not necessarily get themselves? Flower subscription so they always have some? Pot plants? Calendar? Also foodie treats that might be beyond their budget at the moment? Electric blanket?

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2020 22:26

@Graphista well my dd has lived in the house before he moved in she is pretty well set up but I do like the food ideas ill have a think.

Graphista · 11/11/2020 22:59

Hope that may be useful mrsjayy.

I'm struggling with other adults who are much older on another thread.

This ones a bit easier for me

Morphe is now sold in boots so probably online too. Fake eyelashes and some fluffy socks were added tonight, hoping I'm nearly done. Got a 22yr DS too, so far I've managed an advent calendar for him

Copperblack · 12/11/2020 06:56

Anything Korean works for my girls - search BT21 on Amazon for cute plushies, the skincare is great, multipacks of skincare. They also have liked tassimo machines, instant cameras, oodies and they are into ‘among us’ related stuff like hoodies.

orangetriangle · 12/11/2020 09:00

think I will get dd some perfume today and she is done she is not massively into make up but likes molton brown and sanctuary spa cheaper lol shower sets

Sadik · 12/11/2020 09:55

My 18 y/o also lives in jeans/hoodies & doesn't do makeup/jewellery etc. So far I've bought her a mini ice-cream maker from Lakeland & a jumper from Run & Fly. Stocking will be shower gel / fluffy socks / chocolate (last year I splashed out on some of these socks which are expensive but really lovely).

For those with jeans/DM wearing teens, last Christmas I got her an oversized Levis denim jacket which was a massive hit & has got worn loads.
