Train track for 2 year old

Ok, not strictly a Christmas present but for a little boy who's birthday is a couple of days after Christmas. Can any of you lovely people recommend a train track that can be added to, is good quality, will withstand a toddler playing with it and last with him as he grows up. Is brio the way to go? Thanks everyone ☺

DS has Brio but a friend's son has the Duplo one which they played with on a play date and tbh I think it's more fun than Brio for younger kids (DS and friend's are 3). I guess Brio will last longer as it's more of a classic that will be played with by older kids (whereas duplo might be outgrown sooner). But I think I would have got the duplo one first, with hindsight.

Wooden track definitely! If you can't get Bigjigs or Brio get something compatible with it so you can mix and match sets at a later date. (Ikea do reasonably priced wooden track, as do Asda. It all fits with the leading brands.)
