Does Santa bring everything in your house?

Santa does bring all the presents in our house apart from those from grandparents etc.

When I was a kid it was the same until we didn't believe anymore.

I figured that the kids don't believe for long & it is magical but it's bloody hard work when Santa gets all the credit for everything.

There are so many over spoilt children growing up now

Nope, Santa brings a couple of little things, usually a few coins, a pack of lollies, magic curly wurly

(I have two kids, I buy 4 curly wurlys and tell them that as long as they don't eat the whole thing then they will regenerate, when they go out of the room I quickly replace the half eaten one with a new one (I put the new one in to the packet that they opened) and when they come back they are always excited lol)

and maybe a new outfit if that's what they asked for.

Everything else is from whoever got them for them.

Father Christmas just brings stocking, for multiple reasons:

  • kids can say "thank you" to the person who bought the gift
  • kids can get involved in choosing gifts for other people
  • if they accidentally catch sight of a present or wrapping paper, it doesn't give it away
  • it is fairer on less fortunate children who might be upset that FC bought them a board game but bought Susie an iPhone.
  • most people i know do the same so it's easier to keep up

It's a shame it's not universal though.

Father Christmas brings a stocking and the main gift (this year a bike). All other presents are from the family and friends who gave them. I've worked with many young kids and generally they don't compare who gave them what (FC vs parents etc), they compare what they got. I love seeing a child's face when they discover he's been, I'm not bothered about who gets credit.

My DC are grown now but when they were younger Santa filled one of their Dad's socks with little things - chocolate coins; an orange; pencils etc and one present from their list.
Under the tree we're the other presents from us alongside the presents from grandparents etc.

Father christmas brings everything here which actually I have found hard not due to credit but due to the children not knowing the limit/difficulty in getting something they might ask for.
We decided to do it this way because they only believe for a short amount of time but we have now added (as they are older) that we have to send some money to him to help pay for materials to make the toys/gifts. This has also helped to explain why some children get more and some get less.
