My DS Will be having his first Christmas this year, he will be 9 months old. Obviously there’s not much we can do, like seeing Santa etc, this year but I still want to make it magical. What ways can I make it magical and make memories? I know he won’t remember it, but I will.

I had a Christmas bauble printed from an online store with a photo of the baby putting the star on top of the tree with dad ( she was only 6 weeks last Christmas so couldn’t hold independently). Decorations definitely a must. A Christmas outfit like a Heritage style one and also a dress up ( like look at me I’m Santa/Rudolph etc). I also had a Rudolph cuddly toy. Playing Christmas tunes.

Even though my Dc were too young at the time to understand the story, we still read The Night Before Christmas to them on Christmas Eve.
We also took them on walks in the pushchair to see the lights.
They signed Christmas cards to family and friends with a handprint.
I’ve also decorated their room - I hung some paper snowflakes and twinkly lights above the cot.

I literally just bought them "My first Christmas" t-shirts. I'm so boring.

I have a baby who will be 9 months on Christmas eve.

I'm hoping to go to the local pottery cafe to make some keepsake christmas decorations, like a bauble with her hand print on. We have this for my older daughter and really hoping they are able to open in time to do them for #2.

We are also going to make cards for relatives using foot prints. I've seen one where you use green paint and 2 footprints to make a christmas tree, or a brown footprint turned into a reindeer.

Maybe some Christmas sensory play - have a look on pinterest - like playing with tinsel and cotton wool snow.

Walk round the town and look at Christmad lights one evening.

At that ageage I found the best way to get them excited about Xmas was to put on Xmas music and dance around like a loon. My DD loved The Waitresses Xmas song especially.

I'm planning on making saltdough Christmas decorations with DS's hand and footprints, then paint them to look like reindeer etc. One for us and a couple for grandparents.

Buy some jingle bells to sing christmas songs, dance to christmas music, make him a stocking.

Hi, sorry I have only replied now. They’re some really great ideas, I will definitely do some hand/foot print decorations. Thank you
