Looking at getting my FIL some decent coffee. I'm either looking for coffee bags or can I get posh instant? I'm have no idea what coffee equipment they have if any so looking for something that doesn't require any.

Something like this realcoffeebagco.com/product/coffee-indulgence-small-hamper-box/

No such thing as posh instant, but those bags posted above got the thumbs up from a coffee snob I bought them for last year 👍 can get them from Amazon as well for free postage...

Coffee bags are nice, if you don't think he has a cafetiere.
Frontline coffee give all profits to charity - most other charitable coffee enterprises don't do filter bags, but if you wanted to throw in a cafetiere I recommend Volcano coffee.

I bought a coffee plant last year for BIL. He loved the idea of trying to get some coffee beans from it! Probably won't get a full cup from it but interesting to watch grow for a coffee lover.

Coffee is very individual taste, I love coffee but I really only like two specific brands ... I would at least try and find out what sort of coffee he drinks now and match your gift to that, if he only drinks Nespresso capsules he's probably not going to want anything else ....

At the Food Bank I volunteer at we are inundated with swanky coffee after Christmas which no one wants as well as many other obviously thoughtfully chosen Hamper foodie gifts Grin.

I got a subscription to Django for my birthday- ground coffee comes every two weeks and it’s lovely. They’re a roaster based in Southport but deliver everywhere. You just need a cafetière for the ground coffee

Definitely paddy & Scott. I’ve got dh some coffee bags (there like t-bags) for his stocking. I’m hoping he likes them then I can get him a subscription for his birthday.

if proper coffee is his thing, take a look at pact. you can choose based on country of origin, flavour or intensity of the roast. You choose whether you want the beans or coffee which is ground to the needs to your coffee making set up. They work directly with the farmers to ensure that they get paid a better price for their beans than they would if they were members of the fairtrade scheme

if he would appreciate coffee syrups, you can get a wide range of flavours in tk maxx and homesense. Costa normally do a 5 pack of monin syrups for about £10. M&S food stock a small range of individual monin syrups, they're about £3 per bottle. home bargains often has unbranded syrup sets if you are on a tighter budget.

If flavoured ground coffee would be appreciated, tk maxx and whittards offer a fair selection on the high street. Whittards normally do a selection pack of different flavours which could work well if you want to give him variety without the risk of accidently lumbering him with a lot of a flavour he's not keen on. something like this? www.whittard.co.uk/gifts/gift-type/coffee-gifts/coffees-of-the-world-gift-set-338087.html

You can get clips designed to seal coffee bags which have a scoop on the end for measuring out the perfect serving of ground coffee (google coffee scoop clip).

I don't personally agree that there's no such thing as posh instant coffee. Whilst instant will never rival "proper" coffee IMHO, there is a world of difference between a cheap, powdery instant coffee and a higher quality freeze dried instant coffee. if he does drink instant coffee, waitrose often stock some more unusual single origin roasts. Beanies do a range of flavoured coffee. Aldi sometimes carry a small number of their range (circa £2.50 a jar). On the beanies website (and sometimes in home bargains) you can find packs of their coffee sticks. They also have an advent calendar. Littles is another brand of flavoured instant coffee, normally about £3 a jar in waitrose.

does he drink coffee on the go and if so does he have a decent travel mug? We're big fans of the lifeventure brand as they're leakproof, bulletproof and keep drinks piping hot. If you can get to a cotswold outdoor they're often on a multibuy offer, although they're reasonable enough individually on Amazon.
