Boxing Day meal.

We’re hosting Boxing Day this year, just 4 adults and two children. I’m going to do a brunch when guests arrive and then dinner around 5pm.

We like the party food bits but also want more of a buffet feel. We won’t have any cold meat but could buy a ham etc if needed.

What would you/will you serve?

Did have a buffet/party food type thing in mind but we are tier 2 so now can’t have guests indoors. Might do a curry instead now with the leftover turkey.

Sorry OP, I can't get too arsed about anything to do with Christmas right now. That is not what you want to hear so very sorry.

But a buffet of ham/gammon leftovers all cut up nicely with the same for turkey along with potato salad, coleslaw and whatever and lovely warm bread would be my go to.

Pick and mix!

Ooh following, am trying to be super organised with meal planning this year (especially having to have lots of different groups of 6 rather than big parties this year). I usually do a few curry dishes the day before Christmas for BD, it's become a bit of a traditional curry night. But following for other ideas!

Pulled/shredded ham hock with baked potatoes, warm bread rolls, grated cheese, apple sauce, tomato chutney, caramelised onions and a green salad.

Usually would have leftovers. But that depends on what are you making for Xmas Dinner and if you can be arsed to make extra for the next day
Brunch: smoked salmon, cream cheese bagels. Sausage rolls from frozen. Also from frozen assorted croissants. Fruit salad, fresh orange juice. You can premade and freeze a bunch of pancakes.
Dinner : leftover cola ham, turkey, roast beef sandwiches with nice crusty rolls /baguettes. Cheese platter, crackers, chutneys. Olives. Dips and crudités.
If you are looking to cook a sit down menu I would look at something that can be pre prepared and don't take too much. Starter, spiced parsnip soup. Main chicken ballotines with jus, green beans and mash.
Pud: cream profiteroles with chocolate sauce

Best meal of the year here: cold turkey, cold ham, pork pie, bubble and squeak, homemade chips in the chip pan, pickles and chutneys. Trifle and leftover Christmas pud to follow.

I always do baked ham, cranberry sauce and cauli cheese and peas.

Then I do christmas pudding icecream which I swear I made up msyelf, but seems to be in all the christmas magazines as well. Hmm

It is vanilla ice cream and you stir chopped dried fruit, glace cherries, chocolate chips and a shot of brandy in it.

and yes- to be honest I enjoy it more than christmas day food!
