Bike or trampoline, some sort of outdoor toy.

ajandjjmum · 13/10/2007 11:09

What about an experence - white water rafting, go-karting etc?

What about paying for a class for him, Karate/or whatever he wants and let him pick which one.

chloesmumtoo · 13/10/2007 11:24

Well would love a tramboline for him but small garden. He hates his bike unfortunately but loves his scooter. yeah he likes books but was looking for more of a main pressie. Not sure on the activity type things for xmas, maybe more for birthday also in jan ahhh..... Has footie gloves, and was into yu gi oh but not beyblades now. Dont know anything about the wii, not got one. Sorry said he has x-box but its game cube, Im not very up on these things.

MP3 player? You can get them quite cheap now if you don't go for ipod brand. Well, I say quite cheap £30ish I think.

chloesmumtoo · 13/10/2007 11:32

Well, I know nothing of mp3's and downloading music! but considering my ds had a personal cd player once and hardly touched it, I dont think I would risk it. Not that into music. Sorry. Its a real challenge isnt it!

football kit? new trainers? skateboard?

nappyaddict · 13/10/2007 11:38

portable dvd player?

admylin · 13/10/2007 11:46

Give him the money! That's what mine are into most, they want money and are willing to not have the pressie pile at christmas and instead just get an envelope and a few bits and bobs from family.

chloesmumtoo · 13/10/2007 11:46

Footie kits an idea. He doesnt really have branded trainers, very wide feet so tends to have clarks normally anyway for school sports. Dont think he would quite be into skateboarding(not sure) and has a combi tv/dvd player in room already. I know he would love mobile phone but not keen on that idea! He loves pokemon still so maybe something relating to this somehow

Yeah money maybe the best bet for b day esp. But worried about xmas. Hes older now but younger dd will have pressies if you know what I mean. some how looks bad compared but then I suppose can pick up what bits I can the he could have whats left over in money to spend

My ds was given an MP3 player for his birthday last week and he LOVES it

fullmoonfiend · 13/10/2007 12:02

my ds is getting mp3 for his 10th. He loves the idea you can download stories onto it as well as music.(though he loves music)

I also last year did him a booklet of 'promises' to last throughout the year, with everything from 'pancakes for breakfast', a trip into town to squnder £20, a trip to the leisure pool (which I hate as it is a hellish experience for adults...!) and a trip to a theme park (carefully dates to allow for the cheapy admission day they have once a year )
He adored it so much I am thinking of doing it for xmas.

motherinferior · 13/10/2007 12:16

Lots of books.

cornsilk · 13/10/2007 12:16

digital camera or even polaroid
proper keyboard (with ear phones of course!)
great day out with his mates
bedroom makeover

serenity · 13/10/2007 12:24

Depending where you are, maybe an annual pass to somewhere? Dcs are getting Legoland ones this year, mainly because they then get free entrance to Vue cinemas and Sealife centers for a year too - other places might do similar deals?
