Hi all

I'm wondering what you have as a table centre piece.

I'm thinking of get twigs from the forest and spraying them then adding mini baubles,

Is it OK to have a different colour theme in the living room and kitchen?

As to the centrepiece/decorative theme, this year I am planning a gold resin tree and 3 silver resin deer in the centre, then 2 small gold trays/candleholders either side with a pomegranate-coloured pillar candle and possibly a mini pine cone wreath, then 3 small crystal vases at either end holding sprigs of holly, eucalyptus and one other which I don’t know the name of but it’s silver coloured, and sat with those will be a Crystal tealight holder. The tablecloth is going to be a natural linen, with a moss green linen runner.

I think.

(I usually change my mind at least once in the run-up to the season)

I’ll set ours up for Christmas dinner - we don’t use the dining room most days as we just eat in the kitchen, and dinner on Christmas Eve is always had in the living room.

These all sound lovely but DH vetoes it as he says there's no room, he does so many sides that it becomes a game of Tetris to put it on the table.

@goose1964 I think your DH needs a host(ess) trolley!

I always do mine on Christmas Eve, along with all the food prep. One of my favourite jobs!

@TheSandgroper Bin off the cards and make way for the food.

I’ll dress our table and prep food on Xmas Eve with a large baileys. Best part before it’s all over in our house.

I need to steal centre piece ideas though.

Our table is used for everything so it gets set for dinner while I’m cooking. Everything is washed, ironed, assembled and set aside before hand so it’s just a case of actually putting it on the table.

Mil has a dining room and dining table that is only used for Christmas and it’s all set up a few days before which is lovely.

I have a copper bowl which (after annual going over with Brasso) is filled with Oasis in a slightly smaller bowl, and lots of bits of assorted greenery from the garden stuck in until no more will go in, plus a red or white candle.

I’m not remotely artistic but it always looks lovely (though I say it myself.). And lasts very well, too.

Ohhhh as it happens I have a copper bowl too! I think I’ll make a seasonal foliage arrangement to sit in the living room. ❤️❤️

So many possibilities...

sorry, tree is in the corner of the dining room, not corner of the table, that would be ridiculous LOL
