How to get maximum Christmas out of decor?

Children have requested a house covered in tinsel, which seems reasonable, given all the things we can’t do this year that we usually would.
I can’t quite picture how to achieve this though. Also without spending a fortune.

We normally have:

Lights up at a few windows, a couple of light up house things, two Christmas trees, bead things on the bannisters and between wall lights. What else can I do? Don’t have that many surfaces and won’t get round to lighting candles.

Sorry to jump in...

How do you attach scene setters? Pins?

The scene in Elf where he decorates the department store needs to be your inspiration so defo paper chains and paper snowflakes. I appreciate what a pp said about decorated surfaces being a pain but battery powered fairy lights dotted about look amazing and are easy to clean around

Hang big white snowflakes from ceilings and door frames

OP, we have some lovely led candles from The Range, with real wax exteriors and a remote control to turn them on and off!! Really! My 29yro DS and 28yo DIL thought they were hilarious and great fun. They come in a pack of 3 different heights, chunky pillar candles for £9.99. I’m sure you will be able to get the DC to turn them on and off, plus they don’t get hot and are no fire risk.

Some fantastic ideas from everyone else!

I bought a big 6ft fiber optic christmas tree and net chaser lights for their bedroom this year. Hoping this will be extra festive 🎅
