Looking at another thread, am not the only one with this problem. What's gone down well with your teenage boys? (no socks, hankies, or pants please!)

what about surfy type accessories from Fat Face/White Stuff -wallets, badges, bracelets etc...that kind of thing - if they're that kind of boy of course. And iTune gift cards

geordiemacmummy · 11/10/2007 11:56

Kelly Brook?

lilibet · 11/10/2007 13:09

ds is 14 and last year in his stocking he had

socks with his name on
little Britian undies
toothbrush
choclate
deodorant
pack of playing cards
a copy of a magazine - thik it was four four two
a tiny bottle of after shave - you can get them for about £3 from good perfume shops
pens
pencils
eraser
sharpener
keyring

can't think what else

DumbledoresGirl · 11/10/2007 13:09

My boys aren't yet teenagers, but I bought them both some Simpsons shower gel last year which went down well (and had they not liked it, it would still have got used up and not just thrown into a corner). Also, a comb each (they did get thrown in the corner!) and a fat novel each (takes up loads of room in the stocking!)

BroccoliSpears · 11/10/2007 13:09

A ball of string or a roll of duct tape. Seriously.

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 11/10/2007 13:11

A magazine 9 by that I mean a computing/games/music one not porn )

lilospell · 11/10/2007 18:01

great, thanks, keep the ideas coming (he's 14, done most of these previously but your suggestions will help others too)

last year I got mugs with their photos on from Asda for about £1.50, they were popular

fountain pen (need for school anyway)

small book about whatever current hobbies are (e.g. rock climbing, sailing, blowing things up!)

shower gel is a must!

cheap DVD or CD

something 'amusing' like those fire breathing walking nuns you can get

one of mine is getting ipod accessories this year, the other will probably get a new mouse or something for his computer

nice choc bar - they like the more interesting ones now like chilli flavour

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 11/10/2007 19:15

Hawkins Bazaar is always good for useless but fun things like racing nuns, cats arse pencil sharpeners, funny books etc

lilospell · 11/10/2007 22:23

Slacker - "fire breathing walking nun" - is that for real? If so where can I get one?? Sounds ace. Hawkins Bazaar - had one of their catalogues last year, will have a look on line, thanks for reminding me Betty. Broccoli - ball of string not a bad idea, as he's always pinching mine so can never find it when I need it. Duct tape I'm not so sure about, can imagine what he would get up to with it!

Cheapo whoopee cushion went down a treat with mine a couple of years ago as did the reindeer pooping choc drops. (not all our stocking fillers are bottom related, honestly, just that these are the ones that went down best) My DS is 14 by the way, so a younger rather than older teenager.

Jelly Belly beans, they have some weird flavours. A bit like russian roulette, but with sweets.

lilospell · 11/10/2007 22:30

"Jelly Bean Russian Roulette".Also sounds ace and a bit different (note to self: even ordinary jelly beans something I've not done before) Any idea where to get that from Mrs Merton? Thanks for all these great suggestions. As this isn't just for me, please keep posting novel ideas. Thanks.

I usually get some of those really hard puzzles-either wooden or metal
Last year I gave them some of those Cubeworld things they could use together.
Pens.
Keyrings.
Plenty of goodies to eat!

mrsmerton · 11/10/2007 22:42

You can buy Jelly Belly beans from some dept. stores, some places sell them loose, so you can choose flavours. Others (John Lewis) sell them in packs, so you get a bit of everything. They are tasty! (Unless you get a coffee bean, or a chilli one!)

lilospell · 11/10/2007 22:43

ah, misunderstood, thought there was some russian roulette game with jelly beans (duh, long day and should be in bed!)

OP posts:
mrsmerton · 11/10/2007 22:46

They'd still like the beans, tho!
