Hello, wondered if anyone had any idea for gifts for a 5 and 7 year old? I have drawn a complete blank on main Santa present this year. Any help would be much appreciated!

If you go onto Smyths or The Entertainer, maybe even Argos, you can select the childrens and they'll show you age appropriate toys. I hope this helps.

A dolls house. Not be linked to a particular set but something robust enough that it can be a school and a stable and a home for macdonalds tous and a lovely house or a hotel. Get some sturdy rather than beautiful furniture.

Our lasted years and went off to a childminder afterwards. It was a wooden one from Asda of all places. It had a peppa pig school in one room and a playmobil farm in the attic once, I remember. The possibilities for imaginative play were endless. Such good value for the amount of use it got.

Scooter or Bike is a lovely Santa gift. I love to see the kids out on Christmas morning on their new bikes.

Done great suggestions there! I teach 7 year olds and they are very good with technology so a tablet or real camera might be good.
A few of mine have fitbits or fake versions and they love them! They do loads of running at break, lunch and daily Mile to get their steps up! They also love comparing who got the most at break time etc and I sometimes use them to encourage extra participants too in PE!

Galt Toys science kit sets
Scooter
Lego
Dress-up costumes
Playmobil
Books / sticker books
Dobble card game
Brainstorm Toys Outdoor adventure microscope - my DS(5) likes his. They do quite a few good educational toys etc

Think Fun and Smart Games do some really good games that are educational and fun. My DS(5) has Think Fun Rush Hour Junior and Smart Games Red Riding Hood. I like the Rush Hour one too!

At that age have you thought of letting them flick through the smyths catalogue to see what they want? Can give some good ideas as long as you are clear they don’t necessarily get it/everything!

ginberry4 · 04/10/2020 10:26

My dd(5) would love any of these:
Dolls house (Barbie kidkraft wooden one)
Maxi micro scooter
Our generation doll & outfits
Lego friends sets
Anything with pandas on
Twisty pets
Sylvanians

When DS was 7 he liked
Lego
Pokemon
Anything Harry Potter

micc · 04/10/2020 14:20

Magnatiles, remote control cars, interactive globe? :)

aquamarine1 · 04/10/2020 15:06

Such great suggestions thanks! Not keen on getting them to look through a catalogue - think it would take some of the magic away.

Would they share a play kitchen or outdoor mud kitchen?

Scanner20 · 04/10/2020 20:09

My dd is almost 5 a few things she's getting/asked for
Enchantimals ski chalet and dolls
Vtech twist it
Kindi kid
Hairadorable
Twisty pets/girls
Lego friends

Claire's have good offers for stocking bits and little bags/purses.

Vtech camera she has is good, got it a couple of years ago and still plays with it, dobble has been a great game as has the orchard toys ones.

She is getting an Asda dolls house for her birthday too which is around Christmas.
