Which scooter for a 2 year old

Hi all,

I want to get my toddler a scooter for Christmas but im overwhelmed with the amount of options. Any recommendations?

We had great success with micro scooters. They are so good. They do a mini micro for age 2-5 years. I am not sure about deals but worth paying extra for. They last really well too so can be handed down.

B&m have scooters age 2+ in the 2 for £20 offers. Unicorn or dino designs x

Mini micro all the way. My DD got one for her 2nd birthday. The version with the added extras included an O bar and seat - don't bother with that. She went straight to the normal bar. She didn't really start to love it until she was 2.5 but now she's lightening fast. My boy is 18 months and he's already livid with jealously and trying to scoot on it!

Thanks for the responses. The micro is on my list but slightly put off by the price. Dont mind paying extra if it will last for a while though!

If the price puts you off then buy one second hand. They are incredibly robust and will last for years. They are also much lighter than donye of the cheaper ones.

Mini micro all the way, and if you find one second hand, even better.

Mini micros are great and well worth the extra cost. The three year old I look after has been riding one from about 20 months - she's the third child to have used it and it's been used a lot! They are very robustly built, lightweight and smooth and easy to ride.

Mini Micro's are fab. DD had one for 2.5 years of pretty heavy use which we then passed onto a neighbour who used it for her DD for another 2 years of daily use then her sibling used it for another 6 months before it finally gave up and broke. Well worth the money.

Mini micro all the way, well worth the price tag. My DD started using hers at about 2 years old. We bought the version with the seat that you could push and its great for the school run. Saves us the tantrums we used to have when putting her in the pram and we don't spend 40 minutes walking to school! Older DD has the micro maxi scooter that she loves as well

Yep, mini micro.

2nd hand is fine (they really don't care at that age!) and as a pp said, don't bother with the seat and O bar extras.

You might want to consider streamers for the handlebars as an extra though

Don’t be put off by the price. Friends who bought cheaper ones ended up replacing them fairly quickly. Ours did nearly six years across two children and is soon to head off to their cousin.

My DS has a new Globber and a second hand Mini micro. The handle height on the Globber is really high hence he ended up with a second hand mini micro with the O bar.

For a tall child it probably doesn't make much difference but for average to short the mini micro is rated from age 2 the globber age 3.
