Christmas in a pandemic

If restrictions continue or we go back into full lockdown for Christmas I’m thinking about what we want/need to have in to still enjoy Christmas in some form.

So things that I can buy ahead and store in some way. So not the normal made from scratch stuff but just so there’s a back up in the freezer If fresh produce is hard to come by

Turkey (or other main) - have in freezer.
Pigs in blankets - have in freezer
Potatoes and veg (parsnips/sprouts/red cabbage) buy frozen versions for freezer for emergency use
Gravy - keep granules in cupboard
Cranberry sauce - buy a jar
Stuffing - buy a packet

Xmas pud - buy one for cupboard along with a carton of custard in case milk etc is in short supply.

Tubs of chocs
Wine
Tea/coffee/hot choc/uht milk

Frozen pastries
Mince pies
Cheese (have long dates so can be bought in advance )
Box of mixed cheese biscuits
Chutneys

Xmas napkins and Christmas crackers

Anything else??

There's a thread in the Preppers topic worth looking at called Prepping for Pandemic Christmas I think. Lots of useful ideas / discussion.

Christmas presents have been bought, Christmas craft supplies, some activities to do on the run up, wrapping paper is ordered.
I'll start adding some items to the weekly shop when they have offers on.
Looking forward to enjoying the season with no rushing around and having some family time at home

Not food but I said to DH we ought to pick up the gifts for the children in our family and store them away then at least if we do go into lockdown we have them ready... the adults can do without but it would be a shame for the kids to have to. Will be picking up presents this week - at least it spreads the cost!

We have successfully frozen 2 pint plastic containers of fresh milk, if you don’t like UHT, obviously if you have the freezer capacity. I make a veg dish and stuffing to freeze in advance for Christmas lunch, likewise some ready made meals, stews, bolognese etc.
