Just thinking ahead (DD will be 1 in December) but whatever are everyone's favourite festive books and films - for kids, adults or the whole family?
Just looking to build our collection and find any hidden gems

We have:

Books:
The night before Christmas
Little Miss Christmas

Films:
Elf
Flint Street Nativity
Santa Claus the movie
Christmas with the Kranks

Every December I read A Christmas Carol- it’s the best Christmas story and can’t be beaten to my mind. I also always watch The Muppets Christmas Carol with my sister (and whoever else wants to join) as it’s been our favourite since childhood. The BBC adaptation of ACC was also very good last year and I will definitely watch it again this year.

Aside from ACC I have a soft spot fo It’s a Wonderful Life, Little Women (the Winona Ryder one), Bad Santa, Home Alone, Planes and Trains and Automobiles.

They're for older children (and adults, me and DH love them) but the Haunting/Chilling/Mysterious Christmas Tales books are fantastic and a huge part of our Christmas (we read them every year). DH had them when he was a child and he used to go on about how brilliant they were, so one Christmas I tracked some copies down and gave them to him as a gift. Possibly the best received gift I've ever given him! Warning though - The Megowl is terrifying Xmas Grin

I love ghost stories full stop at Christmas - all the MR James classics and The Mistletoe Bride by Kate Mosse is another annual re-read.

Bernard and the Genie is the greatest ever Christmas film, bar none.

I love:
The Santa Clause 1,2 and 3
Christmas with the cranks (more Tim Allen, love)
The Grinch (with Jim Carrey)
The Grinch (the animated one - the scenes of Whoville are gorgeous)
The Polar Express
Deck the Halls (massively underrated)
Miracle on 34th St (all the feels)
Mickeys Christmas Carol (awesome and only about 25 mins long)
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

I get lots of Christmas magazines and read A Christmas Carol every year but I am going to get into reading some more based on the recommendationsame here 😊
