How many presents will your kids get?

I know everyone is different and there's no right or wrong on this at all but I just find it interesting. How many presents will your DC get roughly, from everyone combined? My 3.5 year old will probably get 22 from everyone and my 15 month old (will be 19 at Xmas) will get about 12. This will include books and a new hoodie each. This is excluding stockings but we don't do stocking sacks, we do stockings with socks, toothbrushes etc.

Erm lots

They get a stocking of around 10 gifts then around 10 tree presents from us, and around 20 from my parents, 20 from parents in law then about 8-10 from aunties and uncles and 5 in total from all grandparents, a few from family friends too

My daughter is 4, she'll get maybe 8 from everyone

@17caterpillars1mouse

That’s about 50 things! I couldn’t even name 50 toys/books etc for my kids!’

I wish I was your kid at Christmas!

We don't count them really. We have a budget that roughly covers presents from us, santa and the stocking fillers. It's about £300 per child. The youngest just gets what he needs plus a few toys from Santa more for appearances sake in front of the other kids rather than anything else.

We have a 10 year age range between the eldest and youngest so it would be unfair to work on a set amount of gifts. The things my 11 year old asks for are much more expensive than the things my 4 year.old wants.

Far too much - see thread on too much stuff.

Seriously they'll get from us and 6 relations. We usually get them 6/7 things, which will be one biggish thing and various smaller things inc selection box. The GPs tend to buy a couple of things they'll have about 15 things to open in total.

My ILs gifts are usually delivered later (anything up to 3 days later) so on Christmas morning the kids will have about 12 things to open.

Blackbear19 · 02/09/2020 19:30

Oh one thing to remember doing threads like this some people will regard a set of 6 books as one gift others will separate it and call it 6.Wink

One from us + stocking and one each from grandparents and other family. We have an unlimited budget but have always limited Christmas parents to avoid piles of plastic or stuff which never gets used. Tended to go with quality rather than quantity.

Our adult birth children will get one or two each as will my son-in-law, they will also get a stocking each just because they are still our kids no matter how old they are.

The fosterlings who will be 13 months and 8 months will get a pile of things that will make their faces light up. I am so looking forward to Christmas this year, last Christmas the 13 month old was just 6 weeks old and slept for most of Christmas Day, this year he will be a whirlwind of destruction.

Probably big one from us (up to £50), then 6-8 from farther Christmas (£5-10 each). So up to £100 spent by us.

Then from family, 2x grandparents, 2x aunt/uncle, 1 x great grandparents, 1x family friends. So probably 15 gifts, though some of the family gifts could be made up of a few smaller bits, so could be up to 20.

DD (6) received about 15 big presents and then a stocking with a number of smaller items. It is her birthday 2 weeks before Christmas so it feels like the house is consumed with toys by the end of December.

I don’t have a budget or a set amount of gifts. My 3 year old will get 3 gifts from extended family. Then maybe 5 or so from us, depending what he needs at the time.
