Considering a leapstart for my lb. Hell be 4 in January. I'm really struggling to think of main present ideas for him... He already has tablet, bike, scooter, trampoline, he's car mad so has several hot wheel sets, a garage, hundreds of cars... Basically everything I can possibly think of! (this isn't all off us BTW, I have a very big family and he is mils only grandchild and she absolutely loves to spoil him!)

I would like to get him something a little more practical than just more cars this year, and the only things I've come up with are a leapstart or a TV for his bedroom but I don't wanna go down that road too early even though I know he would love it in an evening when it's settle down time. Stocking fillers I'm fine with its just the main present!

My DD got one for Christmas last year when she was 3 and she loves it :) she doesnt have a tablet or anything so she calls it her computer lol!! She had the classic preschool books, and I got her the paw patrol book for her birthday. She will sit for a while and go through the pages really independently. I'm thinking of getting her the frozen and toy story book for Christmas this year. It's great how you can keep getting extras or family members can get some books.
Have you got magnatiles? That was another one my DD loves that has great expansion packs, or tegu blocks:)

He has some magnatiles and gets really frustrated with them. I didn't think of tegu!! Think he'd probably love them thanks!

Can I ask some more info about the leap start please?
Been looking online but reviews not great?

My DD has the leap start 3d. It's been great for her, she will happily sit for ages playing it on her own or she will ask me to play with her, when she was three she needed help with the games and she just liked to tap the pictures but now she understands how to do the games on her own and has her favourites :) it keeps her occupied and its educational. The paw patrol one has map reading which I think is really cool. I wish it was rechargeable instead of batteries, but I've only had to change the batteries twice and shes had it since Christmas. I dont really think I have anything bad to say about it, but I do think it depends on the child. My daughter isn't very patient, but she has had to learn you have to be when playing it as you miss the instructions. Its fun to do together too :) hope this helps

@micc thanks very helpful. I've just had another look and seen some better reviews for this version.
The only thing is I only have a work laptop so I may not be able to use that for the download bits. Will look further into this though.
Thank you :D

We have the regular Leapstart and it is amazing. It's ridiculous the words my daughter comes out with that she has learnt from the Leapstart books, she explained to me the other day about the savannah and how a pelican crossing worked. I don't have the 3D version or the new pen with the screen, but have lots of the original books and am so impressed. It's probably her most used toy. There are lots of them that are suitable from age 2, and I have some that would be suitable after anchild can read, so it is still suitable for a 4 year old. We use reusable batteries.

Marble run, camera?

I might be tempted to look at the Leapstart.
