Christmas in Lapland

We are spending Christmas in Lapland this year (our first visit) with our sons aged 14 & 10.
Any tips to get the most out of the experience would be hugely appreciated Smile

I am Xmas Envy I would love to go to Lapland . Older DC like yours can do more outdoor activities .

My Top Tip:

Huskies get very excited when they run and sometimes have a bit of loose pooh . This gets kicked up behind them by their paws .
You might want to cover your face or be the one who stands at the back of the sledge .
Envy < not envy this time Xmas Grin

Can you get in? We went to Finland this summer and they only let us in because I am Finnish. You need to quarantine two weeks at the moment. I have been planning to visit Finland at Xmas. I hope the Covid situation gets better here in uk so that i don't need to quarantine. Otherwise I won't go.

No tips but following with interest...was planning for next winter (hoping Covid all out the way then) but the options are mind blowing and because it’s so £££ I want to make sure I do it right! Do report back with your own tips once you’ve been!

I will do @TheDuchessOfAquitaine. It is expensive isn’t it Shock
I’m really hoping that COVID doesn’t interfere with our plans!

We had the most fantastic time, 2 years ago I think we went.
We used the hand warmers in inside pockets to keep our phone batteries going. The cold really zaps them when you’re taking photos.
Extra gloves for if they get wet.
Huskies were the highlight I think, even more than Santa 😊 Hope you have a great time

My kids are younger than yours 9,7 and 5 when we went. The highlight for everyone in the family was a day skiing!

Hand warmers here too, for gloves and socks. Take snacks for rooms, our place was v remote so little chance to buy extra things for kids to munch.

Gaiters for managing gaps between t-shirts/jumpers and gloves. Life saver!

You can get base layers from sports shops , Aldi ( my DD went ski-ing with the school years ago so we were searching out a weeks worth of base layers) Uniqlo Heatech

Micro fleece not cotton ( fleece wicks moisture cotton doesn't )

They adviced a lip balm/face protector balm
