What on earth to buy him

What do you buy an 8yo boy for Christmas that only wants V-Bucks for Christmas 🤦🏻‍♀️. I usually have so many ideas but I have none this year round. I don't want to get him nothing to open on Christmas morning either

You could start with a stocking? That's something to open at least, without mega bucks on things he doesn't want.

A toy glider, a selection box, wind up novelty thing (think somersaulting penguin) a torch, some kind of spinner...all little things, but DS spends ages playing about with the novelty items in his stocking. Something called flick a chicken, about £2 on Amazon was a huge success last year. He was 11 then.

My son has just bought himself some LED lights to go around his TV with a remote control to change the colours. They look really good and only cost £8 from Asda

I struggle with my son now he's got a bit older but here's some ideas of things we have got him for birthdays/Christmas previously.

clothes, trainers, bath bombs, football calendar, sweets, football kit, football boots, computer games, gaming accessories (headphones, controllers etc), lego, football figures, joke sets, remote control car

One of his favourite gifts one year was a torch 🤣

Hope that may give you some ideas Smile

Primark is my go to for gaming clothing and accessories for my gaming mad son. They now have xbox stuff as well as playstation themed and they usually have more merchandise in the christmas gift range like nintendo.

Would they like funko pops and figures, stuff like that? Smyths is great for those kind of things.

As others have said stocking filler stuff is a good place to start, chocolate, socks, etc x

There’s a fortnite oversized hoodie on Amazon I’m going to get my son. What about a paintball experience or similar to play “real life” fortnite type games- or laser tag nerf set (that was reduced on amazon last year to £15) Or a gaming chair or beanbag etc? A llama loot piñata with sweets in it instead of a stocking?

T shirt from Illuminated Apparel
Jenga Fortnite
Nerf Fortnite
Basketball hoop
Dart board

Just bought flick a chicken (£1.70 delivered on prime) and LED tv lights thanks to this thread!

OP I'm going to buy mine who only wants robux a gaming chair for his room I think.

Juiceey · 11/08/2020 13:10

Ooh I also just bought the Fortnite oversized hoody too, thanks @Isadora2007 I think he'll love this!

sheknows31 · 12/08/2020 23:36

Thank you for all of your ideas! I've got a little list of things to buy now. He's into japan and all things Japanese too but I have no idea where to start with that Grin

Is it Japanese stuff in general or manga?

Juiceey · 13/08/2020 12:20

Jack Stalwart book: The Theft of the Samurai Sword

Floralnomad · 14/08/2020 18:42

How about some age appropriate anime as he’s into Japan .

Cherryrainbow · 14/08/2020 21:52

Ooh what about japanese candy? This is an example of what was on amazon:

www.amazon.co.uk/Japanese-Assortment-Cookin-neruneru-Sweets/dp/B01LZCSVLK/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=japanese+gifts+for+kids&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1597438172&sr=8-8

I'm sure theres other places online and citys tend to have worldwide food/sweet shops like I know Cardiff has one with a lot of American stuff in xx
