My DD will be nearly 3 at Xmas. I found a beautiful dolls house (bargin on marketplace!) for her main present but need ideas for other things. I’d prob get her another 5 presents under £20 each. Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.

Ooh good shout on the usborne books, we have loads of them but she LOVES the one about the human body.

Keep an eye out at Lidl for when they have their wooden dolls house accessories, they do little bedroom, kitchen, garden sets.

Toy cleaning supplies were DDs favourite at that age, the little hoovers, ironing board and such. Don't know why as I never iron but she loved it and would do her dolls clothes

ChikiTIKI · 06/08/2020 19:56

My little girl is 3 before Christmas so joining here for ideas. She plays with my old dolls house when at my parents house and absolutely loves it so your DD will love getting a dolls house I am sure.

I was thinking about getting or making my DD an explorers vest like the one from Andy's Safari Adventure on cbeebies. She has binoculars ready (used to be mine!) which she loves. Yeah, I might do that and get some things like a magnifying glass, compass etc. For her birthday.

Then for Christmas I was thinking of something like this: (hang on need to find link)

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 06/08/2020 19:59

@ChikiTIKI if you have a Flying Tiger store near you get there quick as they have a kids safari range of stuff in stock at the moment with little safari hats, big catchers and such like.

Found it! These magnetic building pieces. You may already have some? I like that they're translucent because apparently you can stack them up on bifold/sliding doors and it looks cool with the sun shining through, so you can make houses etc then it makes pretty shapes shining through on to the floor.

Vanannabananna · 06/08/2020 20:52

Sorry can’t reply to you all separately.

She already has and ones the Melissa and Doug Ive cream set, peep inside books, binoculars, tool kit, cleaning stuff and other stuff mentioned. He older brother was spoilt by both gps as first GC so we have lots Smile

However I have found the great zen castle on hobby craft which was suggested and got that and a canvas bag you colour in which she will like to (someone suggested craft stuff). I also just won on eBay a baby Annabel car seat.

Thank you for all your suggestions even if she has the specific item it’s made me think about stuff connected to them so many thanks. I think I’m getting there!

B. Pop beads on amazon look great and can be used over and over. Make different jewellery items.
Orchard toys games are always a hit in our house.
Melissa and doing doorbell house, they do a horse stable set too which looks nice.

At the risk of sounding like a party pooper, as you already have so many of the previous suggestions it's tempting to think that she doesn't need anything else, so I'd go with books, art supplies and/or wooden jigsaw puzzles.

My best ever buy was a wooden train set, which I got for my daughter the Christmas she was 2.5. That made present buying in subsequent years very easy, as we just kept adding to it with extra engines and things like tunnels and bridges.

My daughters are older now but at 3 loved the "my busy books" - they have had a new one each year since 2, my youngest will get a new one this year! They are books with 10 figures, playmat and book - around £6. They do all sorts of films and TV ones, i usually wrap with the corresponding dvd. Recent ones we've bought are trolls World tour, frozen 2.

Also how about starting a tradition, I get my girls a snowglobe each year which are displayed in their room.

Fleece blankets have always gone down well, for using in the buggy and nowadays cuddling up watching TV. Primark are our favourites- lots of choice. We've had disney, and various characters/animals over the years! They also double up as good blankets to play on in the garden or for taking on picnics to sit on.

My youngest has always loved dolls, elc used to do a lovely range called rosies world. Or the barbie Chelsea are a nice size and child dolls. Some people really like lottie dolls. Now my daughters into lol dolls (i wouldn't start that yet, they get expensive and their outfits are questionable...)

Fingerlings have provided lots of entertainment here, had them a few years and still get played with. Also twisty pets - its a bracelet that turns into an animal. Quite cute would make a nice stocking filler :)

I’ve not heard of busy books and they sound great. I will look them up.

I was thinking about a snow globe. Where do you get yours from?

Thank you

The Melissa and dough see and spell board, helping my just 3 year old with his words.

There's a fishing set the rod has a magnet and picks up letters

My first scaletrix, is brilliant, lots of fun with them learning to keep the cars on the tracks.

There's a monkey scales you put a weighted number on one side and put the same amount of monkeys on the other to balance it.

A globe -night light learn about countries and constellations at night time

Finger phonics book, our DS (3) loves them and helped him learn the phonic sounds of letters
