Are professional Christmas decorators exorbitant?

I hate decorating at Christmas and I'm a bit crap, I am away with work most of Dec I'll get home around the 20th of Dec..I'm so tempted to look at a professional decorating company but I don't want an entire festooned house or a lit up outside of the house so we're seen from space.

Has anyone ever had anything like this or is it a stupid idea?

Go large, and pre prepared as much as you can.

Pre-lit tree. Big pre decorated wreaths and garlands. Big church candles.

Then it's literally just placing things where you want them.

I often wonder this MrsKingfisher I love Christmas decorations but the last few years I’ve had to take a day off to decorate the house. I watch keeping up with the kardashians (I know, guilty pleasure) and they have decorators every year and it is incredible. Even in a smaller way, Coming home to a beautifully decorated house and knowing someone else is going to clear it all away must be amazing.

If you've paid off your mortgage and have savings then it would be a good treat, other than that I'd stress about the money.

I wouldn't do it because I'm fussy I enjoy decorating for Christmas but my sister and MIL would consider this I think.

Any idea how much it would cost? If this is a thing I could set up a festive business because I do it for free for my sis and MIL at the moment!

I think I could do this for a living as I once decorated the office tree and a colleague asked if we'd had the professionals in Smile

Bit I might be getting out of practice. Didn't have a tree last year as we went away. This year we have kittens so I'm not sure I should risk my collection of many breakable decorations.

I imagine it would be incredibly expensive and really over the top which isn’t what you want.

If you buy a prelit tree then that should cut down the time taken considerably. I spend more time unravelling and putting the lights on the tree than the rest of the house combined. I would pay someone to do that for me!

Do you have any friends who really like Christmas decorating? I would do this for a friend for free if they asked as I love decorating! I wouldn't even see it as a chore, but an early Christmas present 😂
