Best toy hospital for 3.5 year old?

DD loves nothing more than role playing as doctors and patients and she'll be a little over 3.5 for Christmas. I've already picked up some things in sales but I think she'd really love a toy hospital (not like a toy kitchen, a playset) but I need recommendations. There's two I've seen that I like but they're both Playmobil, the children's hospital (about £55) and the city hospital (about £145) so I need to know if they're suitable/worth it or if there's any other good ones. I'm just worried that we'll lose some of the tiny bits (we have a lively 1.5 year old baby). Any help would be so appreciated. We already have doctors outfit and tools. TIA

We dont have the playmobil hospitals but have lots of other playmobil and it's really great. My 3 year old plays with it for hours!

Also wait a while and see if you can get them cheaper - they quite often have deals on the playmobil website such as 30% off, or "bundles" of similar sets at a reduced price.

I will wait @FrugiFan , just the ones I saw on Amazon Smile

Playmobil does tend to have a lot of tiny pieces, but they can be held back until they're more age appropriate if you choose.
They get literally years worth of play out of Playmobil, it's fabulous stuff.

Dd got her playmobil hospital at that age and still plays with it 3 years later

Oh my word! It looks fabulous. Thinking I might add it to my own Xmas list! Aged late 40's!! Grin

We have the children's one. It's had loads of play so far. You can also get a helipad and an extra floor extension from the playmobil website for it. My youngest is just 2, she plays with all the playmobil as well and hasn't eaten/broken any of it yet.

Early Learning Centre Happyland might do one. ELC products are sold at The Entertainer now.

bookmum08 · 22/06/2020 19:09

Had a quick Google and yes Happyland has a hospital and matching assorted sets. Not sure if they are in the current range but you should be able to get one second-hand fairly easily if not.

Playmobil is awesome. Eldest ds got his first set at just 3. We did keep back some of the very tiny parts at first. It really lasts well so you will get many many years out of it. Worth the money in my opinion. Our youngest ds is now almost 14 and playmobil is one of the toys he still has. He doesn't play with it but still collects the odd bit here and there. He sets up scenes for stop animation.

Get the city hospital and kustpacl away the really tiny bits. Alternatively, leave it set up on the dining table so the baby can't get up to it.

Playmobil is fantastic. My two had the hospital and loved it. The theatre lights worked and it had a little defibrillator! (I’m easily pleased). As much as I recommend it, and I had a play with it myself, I do not recommend putting it together on Christmas Eve after a few too many gins.....

Puddlelane123 · 22/06/2020 19:12

I tend to superglue the really tiny pieces down so that they are still there to add to the realism / look of it (like little ice creams in the ice cream van say) but aren’t immediately lost or eaten by my toddler. My 5 year old doesnt mind and it doesnt reduce the play value which is excellent. I love playmobil

FrugiFan · 22/06/2020 20:03

We have an ikea trofast unit full of playmobil. The little bits can be kept in the drawers for safekeeping and she is only allowed to play it on top of the unit, so it doesnt go all over the floor and get eaten by the baby Grin

I just came on to suggest buying a real stethoscope, bandages and big pack of plasters to add to a toy medical set. They are cheap and add so much play potential.

For small world play we had playmobil and I shoved the tiny bits in a sandwich bag until the dc were bigger. There's a child's hospital set which was popular with my dc.

I have a 4,3 and a 11mo.
The elder 2 are allowed toys with smaller pieces but they stay in their room. So all our toddler friendly toys are downstairs and older toys upstairs The baby of course isn’t allowed to play up there by herself.
I like the look of the city hospital best! More play opportunities

The playmobil website has bundle offers on at the moment.
