Last week me and a friend decided rather than going out for a meal we would have a "fake Xmas night " in my house.
So I said il take care of main and she would do the dessert.
So I make a Xmas dinner...turkey and all the trimmings.
Spent hours making the dinner, doing the table all nice etc.
She rocks up on the night with a packet of mr Kipling cherry bakewells.
I mean don't get me wrong I love a cherry bake well but I expected a bit more.

I think it’s a bit cheeky especially as you would have spent considerably more. Doesn’t seem like a fair split.

I'm sorry, OP, that's really made me laugh, but IRL I'd have been pretty miffed. Has she had something going on that meant she didn't have the time or the cash to get anything better? Did she apologise, or even acknowledge that there was a bit of a mismatch between what you did and what she did? Did she bring wine?

Best to put it behind you now, though, and keep it as a good story for the future.

Is this the same friend who invited you to go out with the friends of hers that don't like you?

Maybe she is trying to tell you something.

midsomermurderess · 17/12/2019 16:39

What rhubarb said.

BalsamicVin · 17/12/2019 16:43

Agree with @rhubarbcrumbles
