Don't want anything too filling, but want something more exciting than toast/ cereal. Thought about a panettone, any other ideas please ?

Pancakes with various fillings here - batter in the fridge overnight and easy to make them quickly in the morning. I have cheese and parma ham in mine.

English muffins with smoked salmon, poached egg & hollandaise sauce (sauce bought ready made from M&S) or bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Champagne for those that want it, coffee and fruit juice

Chocolate coins then coffee then smoked salmon and scrambled eggs a bit later. Thinking of doing eggs Royale/Benedict/Florentine this year depends if I can ba with the sauce.

Dc will want pancakes or cinnamon rolls though.

OP if you fancy panettone Nigella has a fab recipe for turning it into French toast.

We used to do bacon butties. Splash out a bit on nice thick cut smoked bacon, fresh white bread and butter. Last Xmas I was pregnant and didn't fancy it and got frozen pain au chcocolat and cinnamon rolls that we just ovened and had with nice coffee and fruit. Delicious and doing the same this year.

Another one here with either:

bagels, cream cheese and smoked salmon, or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs.

Might make sourdough American style pancakes this year though, served with a choice of bacon and maple syrup or mixed fresh berries and Greek yogurt.

Croissants, pain au chocolate, cinnamon Danish roll thingies. I get all part baked frozen and they go in the oven while I'm making coffee and bucks fizz.

gillys · 09/12/2019 17:55

Actually forgot I had asked this !
Think bagels & things with scrambled egg might be too filling as we have Xmas dinner around 2pm.
Liking the croissant ideas & crumpets. Also means minimal cooking 😆

Nigellas Christmas muffins here too! Or smoked salmon croissants or bagels.

ifigoup · 09/12/2019 18:00

Cinnamon buns
Eggs Benedict/royale/florentine
Bucks fizz or kir royale or similar
Posh full-cream yoghurt with tropical fruits
YUM

Pork pie (my grandads traditional Christmas morning breakfast) followed by croissants and Mrs bridges raspberry curd.

Hairwizard · 09/12/2019 21:53

Ooh some nice ideas on here😁👍 usually do bacon sausages eggs and soda/potato bread so might try something else this year.
Morrisons do the christmas tree crumpets i think. Did online shop with them for my bros christmas present.

Little German sausages in warm part baked rolls. And cava!
