I'll start, just got the box of Christmas cards from the top of the wardrobe and a sellotape dispenser which was on top fell off and the sharp cutting bit has put a 2cm bleeding cut on my forehead.

Any advance on this piece of numptyness? Smile

I was once attacked by a falling tablecloth Grin

It was in a plastic packet that fell off the display hook whilst I was bending down looking at the item below - the packet had really sharp corners and it scratched all down my cheek and made it bleed.

Broken foot from dropping (frozen) turkey on it
Not me, a man who came into A&E when I worked there.

Last year I stabbed myself with a clove while preparing mulled wine.

Surprisingly painful.

@Raera my grandad did this years ago!

When my 11yo was 4 he ate a small ball from hungry hippos - he was totally fine, just had fun checking his poos for a couple of days!

Dh stood on a step to put a card on the high shelf on Xmas day; caught the edge of the shelf and cut his head open. Definitely needed glueing. We’d both had a couple of glasses of champagne already so DD had to drive him to local A&E where they all pissed themselves laughing because he’s a well known local tough guy shaven-head paramedic. Luckily he was back well in time to peel the spuds.

Well I burnt my finger on my straighteners while getting ready for the Christmas party and I also hurt my dodgy knee dancing at the Christmas party . Grin

I’ve got a paper cut on my upper lip from licking an envelope whilst writing the Christmas cards yesterday, and like all paper cuts it’s really sore!

My dad got me some magnet earrings for my birthday when I was 13. I put them on as nose studs and the magnets flipped and stuck together at the top of my nose. The a&e staff cried laughing when my mum took me in

We don't do traditional Christmas food as no-one in our family likes it, and we have something different every year. One year the seafood course included oysters and as we were opening them I ended up with a tiny shard of oyster shell slide into my finger right under my fingernail. It took ages to get it out again.

Burnt mouth from a 15 second microwaved mince pie

Trip to A & E with my then 2yo after giving her the mistletoe to play with with I wrapped up some presents. As it turns out, mistletoe berries are in fact poisonous. Who knew?

A few years back DH scratched his eye ball putting the christmas tree up! Some of the pines caught his eye and scratch right the way across. He had to go to the Eye casualty clinic where they used some special glue stuff to sort it. Trouble is went wrong a day or two later and he had to go back, where they then had to reopen the scratch and redo the glueing. It makes me cringe even to think about it. Ouch!!

My own Christmas injury was from a gift of new kitchen knives Id asked for. I used them on Boxing Day when we had family round for food and drinks and really cut my hand with one - tons of blood everywhere. Trouble is everyone had been drinking so couldn't take me to A&E and obviously not an ambulance job and no chance of taxis. Just had to bandage it up with the stuff we had in (Id recently done a first aid course and in the aftermath of it stocked up the cabinet with loads of dressings etc. Then a couple of days later ended up going to minor injuries for them to sort it out with stern strips and some silver bandage dressing thing, as it kept bleeding.

Every year my husband has an allergic reaction to our real Christmas tree when putting it up and gets a huge rash. He is still brave enough to do it again every year!
