We have just written our letters to Santa and my DS5 has asked for a toy town, our specific town with our specific named recreation center, people a lamppost and bushes. Help!

I don't even know where to start looking or what to even google.

What a sweet idea, crikey though! My first thought was customise the Bigjigs wooden buildings that go with their train set, but might depend if he's an older or younger 5?

Labels are your friend here

He's only just turned 5 but he's pretty clued up and it was a shock that he asked for this to be honest. He loves dinosaurs and imaginext pirates normally, he does play with all his imaginext at the same time so uses it like small world toys.

He has a massive collection of bigjigs that I was planning on scaling down as it's not played with so much anymore so labelling some of those could work.

The only kind of city in one set I could find was a police station, fire station, school ect but he's wanting rows of houses!

What about one of those playmats that has roads and buildings marked out? Something like this? Maybe you could give him some Playmobil people to walk around the town.

Melissa and Doug wood toy town? It’s on amazon but I don’t no how to do a click link

Does it have to be a model type toy? Would a jigsaw count? You could get an aerial photo printed on a jigsaw... or on a playmat and add figures and cars maybe?

Howmanysleepsnow · 02/12/2019 08:26

Hmm, photo print blanket maybe plus figures?

Playmobil may be your friend here, they have billions of different kits.

Or possibly go to a local model shop - sort of thing train enthusiasts use to build their kits. They will have self assembly kits for houses etc that look remarkably real.
