Small to medium idea for an 18m old?!

We do a family-wide secret Santa, to save every family buying for about 15 people.

This year I got the cutest little boy to buy for. (Yay! Because it seems a more fun task than buying for the 75yr old great uncle).

He'll be soon 18m, has 2 older siblings (both girls, but they haven't gone entirely "pink" in their purchases, so he already has access to their old building blocks, tool kits, as well as their doll prams and toy kitchen etc., so he's fairly well resourced already, from a stereotypically girl and boy perspective.

I know the parents don't like to have too many big items, as the house is not huge and they're quite minimalist...

Budget is meant to be around the £20 mark.

What's fun for 18m old kids these days?! (And something they're not likely to have from siblings to pass down)

Thanks!

Oh, and I thought about an experience or tickets to somewhere, but then realised that as we all only get one gift on the handover day, it won't be much fun for him, so I'd rather an exciting toy of some sort for him to enjoy whilst we're all opening gifts etc.

I ove these eco fair trade knitted animals from www.tiarosetreasures.co.uk if you sign up to reward points you get bonus ones you can use on 1st order (click redeem get voucher code) so you could get 2 within your £20 budget. Delivery is free over £10.

Also Lanka kade wooden toys are lovely I buy mine from www.littlefootprint.co.uk as they start at £2.50 for a chunky wooden animal and free delivery they also offer reward points.

My DS got this for his 2nd birthday and hasn't left it alone since:

What have they already got for the play kitchen? The wooden velcro-ed pizzas and fruit/veg that they can cut up are really good. They don't take up too much room and will be used for a long time to come. The Melissa and Doug pizza is around £15, but there are cheaper brands that are often in multi-buy deals with other chop-able food.

Some great ideas! Thanks! He'd love something like the latches board, he's such a fiddler. Or maybe some wooden food - I could ask what they've got already.

Haha! I had thought of playdough, but wondered if it's like giving someone else's kids tubs of glitter... the kid loves it but the parent spends the next year picking bits out of the carpet?!
