Christmas present help for male partner?

I haven't a clue what to get my partner of three years. He is mid 30s, male.

He doesn't read books
He is not into technologies like laptops, ipads, phones,
He is not really into music as such. He listens to the radio and that's it.
He is not into computers or gaming.
He is not really into clothes.
He has a car but he's not really into cars.

He does like weekends breaks away. If there was an open voucher for a weekend away, I think that would go down well instead of a voucher for a particular hotel.

He is a very practical man. I got him a wallet one year for his birthday. I got him a leather wash bag. I got him a leather belt last year.

I think I might get him a pair of jeans or two. I would love to get him a quality gift. Like last year I got him a good leather belt and hopefully he will have that for a long time. He buys shoes in primark and there's nothing wrong as such with primark shoes but I would love to get him a voucher for a shoe shop so he can buy a pair of quality shoes like ecco. Primark shoes only really last him 6 to 8 weeks and that's with lightish wear. Quality shoes should hopefully last him a year. I re3dont know how a voucher for a shoe shop would go down with him.

Any other ideas for a man that's impossible to buy for?

Would 3d puzzles be any use? My DH strangely likes them and I didn't think he would. If he is into sport you can get one of the stadium, if not, places like the Eiffel Tower.
What about a wallet ninja and rfid wallet?

Can we have a men’s gifts thread is on the Christmas section . Take a look there .

What is he into, Sheep? He sounds very much like my XP who would spend the least amount of money on clothes that he could. It came as a huge surprise to him that more expensive clothes = better quality = longer lasting and I used to buy him stuff from M&S (which he regarded as over priced designer rubbish, until he wore it). Yes, he didn't get out much...

How about a nice watch

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/11/2019 22:12

My dp is similar regarding shoes and clothes, so I use Christmas to buy him good stuff which he will then admit is vastly superior to his old, cheap stuff. A few years ago I bought him some DM brogues, which have proved worth every penny.

I just bought mine a selection of miniature aftershaves, he doesn't know what he likes, now he can try a few!

What about vouchers for a hotel chain, maybe malmaison so he could pick which one and when to go?

Love honey gifts. Grin

Does he like looking after himself? There are some really nice shaving and moisturising products around that can be pricey but really nice quality. saaland.co is one with amazing products and a good sake right now

Or The Personal Barber does safety razor (ie razor blades not cartridges) subscriptions and boxes.

Staff on department stores or duty free can be really helpful choosing after shaves too.

I'm buying mine a Swiss army knife as he lost his. It's one of his favourite items (scissors etc). Also work clothes and two casual hooded jumpers.

Other things I have bought him previously include vouchers for decent trainers. Hobby related stuff. Weekend away. Nice restaurant voucher. Aftershave. Also a painting from local art gallery (he chose it) for our new house.

A pair of Nudie jeans? They get repaired free for life. My DH has a kind of project going on with his to see how long they'll so - they're more repair than jean in some places.

How about a pair of Allbirds? My DH is similar in that he just doesn’t ever really want to spend money on himself. He doesn’t necessarily buy cheap stuff (because he knows it’s often a false economy) but that means he just buys nothing! In the past I have bought him a really nice Ted Baker wool coat which is still going strong many years later. He’d never have spent the money on it himself but he loves it and wears it a lot - esp over his suit for work. I also bought him a laptop bag from Fossil a few years ago and he loves that too. He had a perfectly serviceable laptop backpack for work, so again, would never have spent the money on a new bag himself, but he likes it - it’s much nicer than his old one.

Last year I got him a pair of Allbirds and they became his favourite shoes instantly. This year he’s getting a pair of the new style Mizzles from Allbirds. Worth every penny in my opinion.
