Love Simon was a hit with my older two

sleepismysuperpower1 · 24/11/2019 16:25

whoops, sorry it's not really christmassy! didn't realise where this was posted!

waltzingparrot · 24/11/2019 16:30

The Christmas chronicles on Netflix is brilliant

bionicnemonic · 24/11/2019 16:39

Both Bill and Ted films
Back to the Future series (showing it’s age just a little)
Studio Ghibli films

bionicnemonic · 24/11/2019 16:39

Oops! Didn’t spot the Christmas element!

newdeer · 24/11/2019 16:45

Groundhog Day? It's a family favourite here and with all the ice sculpture and snow feels quite Christmassy
It's A Wonderful Life

Sgtmajormummy · 24/11/2019 16:49

Trading Places. We have to watch it every December.
Dan Aykroyd (sp?) down on his luck is deliciously disgusting in his tatty Father Christmas outfit, stuffing a side of smoked salmon into his jacket.
Some uncomfortable racism (the drunk Oirish priest and black African nonsense chanting) and disablism but you can talk about the film being “of its time” with your teens.

Parsley65 · 24/11/2019 16:54

Thanks - and keep them coming!
They will be watched over Christmas, but they don't actually have to be about Christmas.
Anything and everything considered Grin

Arthur Christmas is funny / clever enough to suit all ages

Goldenphoenix · 24/11/2019 20:40

Just Friends is hilarious. The Family Stone is really heartwarming. Trading Places is a good shout too.

Ellapaella · 24/11/2019 21:36

Just a word of warning with Love Actually.... there are various scenes involving threesomes and the couple who are simulating the porn movie scenes. Obviously most teens won't be too shocked but it's whether you'll all find it a bit embarrassing to watch together. I'd have been mortified to watch that with my parents as a teenager!

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 24/11/2019 21:46

We'll definitely be doing Gremlins this year. And to be honest, Elf has never grown old in our house because it gets put away after Christmas and only comes back out in Dec.

Drum2018 · 24/11/2019 22:44

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is a favourite in our house 15/18 yr olds. We've watched it for a few years so it's become a tradition now.

TrixieFranklin · 24/11/2019 22:51

Bad Moms at Christmas on Netflix! There's swearing and sexual references.

WagtailRobin · 25/11/2019 05:37

The Adjustment Bureau and PS I Love You.

groovejet · 25/11/2019 06:04

Anna & the Apocalypse, a musical zombie Christmas film, which sounds a strange combination but I found it surprisingly enjoyable.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 25/11/2019 06:22

We don't seem to tire of the Home Alone films.

itsgettingweird · 25/11/2019 06:25

Another saying National
lampoons Xmas vacation and also Christmas with the Kranks

Chimchar · 25/11/2019 06:49

Not Christmassy, but Step Brothers is great.
Elf, obviously! Wink
Home Alone 1 and 2.
National lampoons Christmas vacation.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 26/11/2019 11:56

@groovejet Can I ask where you got Anna and the Apocalypse, I wanted to see it when it came out but missed it! Is it streaming somewhere?

Bbq1 · 26/11/2019 12:28

Ferris Buellers Day off is one of my favourite films. My ds first watched it at about 11 and loved it.

groovejet · 26/11/2019 15:08

Lonny, we watched it a few months ago would have been either Hulu or Netflix.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 26/11/2019 15:10

Thanks, I'll take a look
