Soggy Christmas pudding!!

So I’ve been making Christmas puddings for all the family again this weekend, yesterday I steamed them all, 7 hours 😐 When they came out the pan they looked a lot wetter than last year and I couldn’t figure out why... but I’ve just realised what I have done. I didn’t put any foil over the top of the bowls, just greaseproof paper so water from the steaming has got into the puddings. My heart sank when I realised.

Is there anyway I can rescue these? Can I get the water out of them without ruining them? I’ve put so much into these (ingredients, time & stirring) and really don’t want to have to remake them 😔 Any ideas welcomed!

I'd take the greaseproof paper off and put them in the oven on the lowest setting for an hour or two, to dry out.

Thank you, I will try that!

I’m really sorry I cannot remember now but to be honest I cannot remember them being terrible so it must have worked.
