She doesn't wear makeup or jewellery.
Doesn't have many hobbies really. Likes Marie Kondo, hygge- being cosy and stress relieving (but she has loads of fluffy socks, nice blankets, pjs)
She doesn't have baths.
Doesn't want a kindle as prefers reading physical books but she borrows them from the library.
Is a vegetarian. Doesn't like cookbooks though- she finds recipes online that she would like and has made a collation of them as in cookbooks you don't like every single recipe.
Not into photo stuff.
Has a boyfriend, they live in their own flat together but they have everything they need for the flat.
Doesn't light candles as her boyfriend is scared about the fire risk and she worries about the toxins.
Likes anything that improves her life.
Any ideas please? Budget- anything from cheap to expensive I don't mind.

Would she like the recycled cashmere wrist warmers from turtle doves? I got them after they were recommended on here and I love them. She sounds like the kind of person who would appreciate the fact they were made in the uk and recycled.

She sounds a little like my DD1, although she is into gaming too.

For her I've got some good headphones (bluetooth)
A Victorian style print
A huge thick knitted throw
A wooden bowl (handcarved, although not by me!)
A photography experience - where you spend a day with birds and a qualified photographer who guides you towards the best shots and gives advice.

Something "eco" - lot of options here e.g. kitchen bits, shampoo bars, food wraps, seed bombs....

A plant?? Cacti and cheese plants are quite trendy at the moment!

Maybe a cooking course for her and her boyfriend. You can get some really lovely ones.

Zaphodsotherhead · 23/11/2019 19:57

You can give a Hello Fresh subscription as a gift too - I'm thinking of giving a six box subscription to my DS, like buying meals out but he has to cook them himself!

Graduateaccountant · 23/11/2019 20:06

Hello fresh suggestion is possibly the best one yet!

Does anyone know any eco alternatives to foil and cling film- e.g. for wrapping up loads of jacket potatoes?

Beeswax wraps are great. Lots of other eco ideas at Peace With The Wild and Plastic Freedom websites.

My DD is 22 and wants an electric throw (she lives with me and neither of us like central heating) and fluffy socks. She also loves scented candles and incense sticks.

OlderthenYoungerNow · 23/11/2019 21:16

I know she's not vegan but she might prefer vegan food wrap to beeswax food wrap. Check out boobalou.co.uk or etsy.

You can get flower or plant subscriptions which she may like for her flat.

Would she like a subscription to this? thehappynewspaper.com/

Don’t by cashmere for a vegetarian, lots won’t wear wool. She sounds a bit like me except I love my kindle and candles. My fave presents have included; keep cup, chillys bottle. This year I’m hoping for a really distinctive and sturdy handheld umbrella, and coveting vegan doc martens. Also there’s workshops near me where you can make those arm knitted blankets, maybe she’d like something like that if it’s in your area.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/11/2019 23:39

I've never met a vegetarian who doesn't wear wool.

A voucher for a restaurant for her and her boyfriend or cinema tickets?

Actually I personally would buy a voucher from her favourite food or clothes shop!

user1493494961 · 24/11/2019 10:43

She must realise she's difficult to buy for, does she like receiving gifts, not everyone does. Get her a charity gift (goat or something).

LensGlans · 24/11/2019 15:33

She sounds rather precious, OP. I'd say someone as glum as her could do with a good self help book.

Graduateaccountant · 24/11/2019 17:07

That's not nice

I've just bought a nice personalised notebook for a secret Santa for a colleague about that age. I got mine of eBay due to the price limit, but there are nicer ones at paperchase.
