Can anyone please give me some suggestions for my mum? The budget is around £100, the problem is her birthday is a few weeks before christmas and I've got her some nice perfume, my sister has got her earings, for Mother's day we took her to a spa and last christmas I took her for afternoon tea and my sister got her a lovely tea set I'm now all out of ideas!!
I can think of a few small things like hand cream and books she would like but I'd quite like to get her one main present, any Idea's?

Nice watch, handbag, different experience like a tasting menu somewhere or a crafty one where you can make jewellery/lampshade/pottery?

Theatre tickets, with the book of the play if available.
Bird table/bird bath.
Kindle.
Le Creuset pans. Or decent knives.

Thank you some great ideas! She loves to cook and eat out so a tasting menu or le cruset is a great idea & no doubt my dad will ask me what he should get her too Hmm
I did think of theatre tickets but everywhere I looked seemed to be so expensive! (we live in London)

What about something different, like an Alexa? My parents love there’s but probably wouldn’t have bought it themselves. Or a Kindle maybe?

My son bought me the Book of Everyone a few years ago and I loved it. You personalise it with memories, photos - all sorts of things. It was such a thoughtful gift that it made me cry!

I think an Alexa would be great but my dad's one of those people that think it's the government spying on you, why he thinks the government want to listen to him go on and on about bloody golf 24/7 I dont know Confused
scarfaceace that book is so cute she would love that!

Have you heard of Belleek? They are an Irish pottery firm, very traditional and they make all sorts including really beautiful cup sets, not tacky looking ones but nice ones.

There's a set of 6 at the moment comes in a beautiful box and is on offer for slightly under £40 in Debenhams (available online in other places). Not terribly exciting but if she is into home ware, it might be worth a look.

My mum is difficult to buy for because she isn't into much other than reading and knitting and also her birthday is less than a fortnight before Christmas, so this year for both occasions I have gone with a collection of different items I know she would love but would never spend the money on herself, cashmere scarf, new shoes, perfume, expensive hand cream and then "smaller" things like books, her favourite chocolates, a couple of personalised sentimental gifts, a Woodwick candle, a load of Yankee items, personalised Knitting needles, a knitting storage bag and 5 or 6 other inexpensive things.

Fpr £100 i would get a nice cashmere jumper

LuItaliana · 20/11/2019 16:47

Thanks Wagtail I've just had a look and I really like some of the cake stands so that might be an idea, It's so difficult when they have a December birthday too!
